How much the DJs charge?

Here's the bottom line:

An arm and a leg.

That's understood mate, I would also like to know how the funds are collected, the know how of collecting funds, approaching sponsors and stuff.

for the top five dj's, depending on the set time and venue, i hear its around $200,000

low level dj's, like the new york circuit dj's get like $10,000 a set, and most aren't even on the dj mag list

well magna where gatecrasher is hosting there nites (while gatecrasher one is no longer with us) holds about 5000 ppl and the charge around £30 a ticket
they charge between £2.50 - £4 for water/beer, cud say tht every1 drinks on average 5bottles water/beer

5000ppl * £30 = £150000
5000ppl * 5 drinks each 25000 drinks @ say £3.50 each = £87500

total = £237500
(plus where ever else they make money)
so say about 250k to b shared between all djs bar staff and other bills

a good friend of mine that spins mostly house in nyc gets about 8-12 thousand dollars (depending on venue size, night, or special holiday) and a percentage of gross sales...depending how the contract is negotiated beforehand..and they get a a nice guestlist to comp friends

lets just say its a nice life to be a DJ..even if you are not named top 5 DJ..hehehe

Lol... Yeah Armin, PvD, Tiësto, such guys get about 15.000 an hour. But smaller guys (and trust me, I'm sure) get about 1000 an hour. Sander, Markus, the guys in the middle, they get about 10.000 an hour. (this is all in euro's)

Last pvd gig in Brazil... cost:

Regular: R$130,00 (about US$65,00) - 6000 tickets sold out
VIP: R$240,00 (about US$120,00) - 1000 of 3000 was sold
Total tickets: 7000 (6000*65,00=390k / 1000*120=120k) = 510k

parking service: R$35,00 (about US$17,50)
parking service total: 17,50*7000=120,5k

bar:
beer - US$1,50
absolut vodka (shot) - US$7,50
absolut vodka (bottle) - US$110,00
redbull - US$8,00

if the mean was of about US$50,00 each (based on what me and my friends spent)...
7000*50,00=350k

total: 510+120,5+350=980,5k
if headliner DJ (in case PvD) takes about... 10% of the night... he is going to put in his pockets about 98,05k that is reasonable I think... considering it was a 5 hours set... and his unique event in Brazil this year... so what u guys think?

lool i would say it depends for what event and what kind of size we are talking about.. club i wouldnt settle for less than 300-400
