Most of the great house djs were, or started in the gay house scene in the early 90s. Most notable being Tone De Vit.

Also, some of these replies from 2007 are bizarrely homophobic - some guy couldn't listen to a gay DJ? Because he might catch the gay aurally??

There's actually a good idea to this thread - trance producers and DJs (not vocalists) are predominately white and male, and so far as we can tell heterosexual and cisgendered. (I know there are many exceptions to the first two, but that demographic is still the most represented on the music production side of things - I dunno about the consumption side, though so far as I can tell TF is at least 80% male as well). That doesn't mean we're all racist and sexist and such, but it would indeed be nice if we could see a little more diversity when it comes to that.
