He apologized after he was pulled from the festivals...And even then, he could not tell it like it really was! He didn't cancel the shows himself, the promoters took him off their lineups after finding out about his anti-gay rant...Big difference there if you ask me...He could have been honest about it but then he made himself look even worse in the eyes of his fans...That fact just made the apology seem not genuine and he/his PR team would have been better off not making that post...Just my .02Originally Posted by tep

We had a huge national shitfest on gay topic in Estonia last autumn. Reason was that our parlament was voting on a thing called "living together law", which gave legal rights for adults no matter what gender to be in a relationship. Notice that it is not marriage in traditional way, it was more related to cases where for example in case of someone falling ill in gay relationship, the other side not having any legal rights to decide upon medical care, what happened if they had children etc.
Estonia was also first Eastern European country to actively start discussing this.
What happened was basically a massive anti-gay campaign from mainly religious people, but also russian-backed media which has sort of dragged on until now (the immigrant issues have now taken over though).
One of the main arguments the anti-movement also used was that if this law will be passed, next pedofiles, necrofiles, zoofiles and other similar groups will start having rights to do what they please as well.
Its pretty common tactic to present your case through threats and exaggerating it to extreme.
Blue Tente is from Romania, also eastern block, i think people from western nations do not understand the backround. IN Soviet Union, being gay was considered a criminal offense. If anyone was actually discovered to be involved in "perverted" activities, he was sent to prison.
I think there was also official program to remove the "disease" from public. People whos families grew up in such environment are bound to have different opinion.
So i really suggest you stop claiming that "i cannot believe people like that exist in 21st century", there is a big group of people who were told being gay was one of the most horrible things that can happen to humans when they grew up. it is pretty difficult to get over being brainwashed.
