Hey all,
i've been wondering if anyone else has encountered this before.
I'm trying to buy the track home by pvd at audiojelly, but it tells me "Due to licensing restrictions this track is not available in your country".
Which i think is lame of course
Does anyone know another (legal) way to get a copy of this track?
Also i'm curious why some labels (Ultra in this case) want this restriction..
If anyone knows please let me know![]()

Tried Beatpoert and other places?
If not

Not sure how Amazon works, with mp3s but they offer it but its :
Format: MP3, 256 kbps — plays on iPod® and all MP3 players
Ifnot, try to find it here;

Check out the Beach + Confectionery groups on TF, there not like others, there much more...

I've actually got this same issue with Beatport a few times before. Wouldn't allow me to purchase certain songs from labels just because of my country. Weird ...
You can't get to heaven if you're scared of getting high
Current Obsessions:
Pryda - Allein
M-3ox - The Beating of My Heart (Matisse & Sadko Remix)
Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike - Mammoth
Wolfgang Gartner - Illmerica
Above & Beyond - Prelude (Andrew Bayer & James Grant Remix)

As for WHY these restrictions are in place, this is off of beaport (someone else posted this before)...
^It's ridiculous why they don't work to straighten those issues out, they're just losing business. We all know how frustrating these restrictions can be.
A lot of our employees are DJs from all ends of the spectrum- from basement DJs, to club residents, to DJs who have toured all over the world. Even our CEO Jonas Tempel holds a residency on Saturday nights at Beta, and regularly tours with Bad Boy Bill. And those of us who don’t fall into the DJ category are at the very least, electronic music afficionados. So we all know how frustrating it can be to listen to a track that you absolutely love, only to find out that it’s not available in your territory.
As many of you may already know, these restrictions have always been around, but were just not as noticeable as they are today. For example, in the past when you went into a record store to buy your music you only had access to what the distributors were allowed to sell. Similarly, the agreements that we have made with our labels can limit the areas where a release may be sold if it is already available by another, more prominent label in those regions. Release dates can vary from label to label as well. Some releases that are available in all territories may not be available everywhere at the same time. In fact, a lot of the limitations that we deal with now are still based on standards that were set by physical distribution. We are working hard to change some of these outdated practices, however, we always try to keep in mind and respect the fact that our labels are trusting us with their most valuable asset.
At the end of the day we are all here for the music, and we would love to see worldwide rights on all tracks. Until that is possible, we feel that keeping a more extensive label catalog brings us one step closer to reaching our goal. For the time being, we recommend looking for territory restricted tracks under the 'ALL' search function. Sometimes the tracks will share rights with another label which is available in your region.
And other than amazon, could get it from itunes (don't know if it works in your country, I reckon it should). And I was going to suggest buying from Vanditdigital.com, but that URL doesn't work anymore. It just redirects you to Vandit on MySpace... so what the hell's up with that???

moved to 'music related discusions' ;1
Wrote a review of a trance release ?
PM me and it might get posted on the frontpage
You friendzoned me for Trance?

USUALLY if there is a terrotory restriction the release will be available in all respective territories but released by different labels. It does happen that the releases end up never being released on one or more of the labels and therefore is restricted to the rest of the world. This happened with the Markus Schulz Remix of "Buttons" for example - it was only available to Scandinavia (and maybe the rest of Europe) for a week or so before New State pulled it back.
As for "Home", I can't really help you there but go through all the download stores you can find : / Hopefully it will pop up on some other label sooner or later.

This is going to be released on High Contrast soon 27th JulyOriginally Posted by KrisA

If you are free in your dreams, then why don't you go to places you always wanted to go?

PvD's productions are restricted to me both under Vandit labels and High Contrast Recordings... however, other artists' work under those labels, are NOT restricted. Seems his work is reeeeeeeaaaaally exclusive.Originally Posted by Colin

Ah well, if a tune like that was to finally get released, would probably be a lousy re-encode.

If people bothered to pay for the music the quality would be better. Better remixers, better mastering and general better handling of files and media from a to z.

i choose to pay music in physical form from now on.
it just worth it IMO, to have that physical vinyl or cd of the music you like.
with mp3, they can get corrupted together with died HDD or bad DVD.

Physical is better, no doubt. But even a lot of good music isn't being released as hard copy no longer.
And honestly, if people will continue this "digital is totally crap" then they're just gonna enforce this evil circle the music industry is caught in. : /
