my confession for today
i never imagined that i would be saying these words...but as of lately, i have been noticing a pattern, and that is that my interest/love for trance music in general has been waning...i've come to the realization that it doesn't have that same effect on me that it once did...i remember i used to listen to a lot of radio shows every week to hear the newest tracks and was able to ID most tracks in sets...i used to take great pride in that but that no longer holds true for me![]()
also i don't find myself getting excited about trance shows/events anymore...there are many great DJs coming to NYC but none of them peak my interest, and that goes for bryan kearney as well...consequently, my interest in going to luminosity is deteriorating and i'm considering not going anymore...maybe i need a break from this genre of music and explore other genres...before trance, 80's music and hip hop were my passions...

Oh noes! I always considered you a passionate trance fan, it's just unusual to read this from you.
I have lost interest in new trance tracks as they usually don't offer what I search for. There are some exceptions, you can still find good music these days, but I started listening to trance 3 years ago and I have a lot to catch up on. So I listen to older tracks, and that keeps me in love with this genre. I've had those feelings when I just can't listen to it anymore, but it passed in a few days as it was only happening because I was anxious or something. But there were times where I was just addicted to it, not going to the beach just to listen to some trance while I was at the seaside with my friends.
Maybe the key is listening to a variety of genres. I find myself listening to some rap, some pop music, especially chillout/ambient, house/commercial house etc, but trance the most. It may pass, maybe you are just concentrated on other things right now, but maybe it won't pass. Good luck finding the music you'll love forever. From all the music I've ever listened to, only trance gave me indescribable feelings, it's probably the only non-vocal music I've listened to a lot (besides chillout - though I like some vocal trance every now and then), and to make you emotional without any words sung gives it an even bigger special place in your heart.

Omg, I cant believe my eyes!!
All joking aside though, like they say it does happen to all of us. I do not follow the current trance scene very closely either, and I have always had interested in other genres as well. But when it comes to the tracks made from the trance classics era, there is just no genre who can match the passion and feeling I get when listening to it. Take some time and listen to other stuff, and I am almost positive you will return sooner or later. For me the music is a lifestyle now, and wouldn't change it for anything.
And I sincerely hope to see you in June m8.
