Hi.
I have a problem with noise in my studio setup, it's very low in volume but is it normal?
Things I've tried / Changed:
New sound card
New computer (from pc to mac pro)
New apartment
Turning off as many things in my studio as possible (only mac and sound card turned on)
Taking everyting out of the sound card inputs and outputs (only firewire cable connected)
Any tips on how I can get rid of it?

Could it have something do to with that microphone icon on channel 1?

It's normal. You can get rid of most of it with a balanced connection (XLR or jack 1/4'') between the speakers and the sound card

Is this on in- or output, or both?
Some noise is normal if you use an internal soundcard, especially on laptops. Noise should not normally appear on external sound cards.
The noise on the spectrum is pretty severe. What kind of cables and connectors do you have? Perhaps the cables are unshielded and receive interference of some kind. Other than that I have no clue. Try contacting your sound card supplier!

I use external sound card with MacPro. As I stated in the first post I can unplug everything except the firewire cable and still get noise on the inputs, my two sound cards are TC-Electronic desktop connect 6 and Alesis Multimix16 FireWire, but I don't think the problem is any of my gear since I litteraly changed everything some years ago. After speaking to some people I think the problem is in the mains actually. But still no solution to the problem

That's strange.. it might be due to the electrostatic and/or electromagnetic interference in the electric system in your house

I have come across this before its hard to pin point as it could be a number of factors. If you using an interface it try a different usb cable, also try the sample rate in your soundcard/interface control panel. e.g. try 44k or 96k and see if that helps. Theres also a little gadget called a hum destroyer by behringer that sometimes solves this problem too, if you want to google that one.

I'm not sure if this is the problem but the following article is a very interesting read about the ground loop:
