Last week I finished watching the prequel series of Serenity, Firefly, and I honestly thought it was the best sci-fi series I've ever seen. Not just the dynamic of the characters, but due to the amount of details and careful planning of the story. Unfortunately it was cancelled (Thanks FOX) after 1 season, but Joss Whedon got the exact same group together for one last attempt to close the many ends the series left open. Keeping in mind this is a 2 hour movie and not a 10 episode season, Joss did the very best he could with this and pretty much made one of my favorite sci-fi movies I've seen. Of course if you watch this first without watching the series it might seem like a cheap CGI, low budget sci-fi movie, so if you really want to enjoy this movie - watch the series first!
