The Hobbit: Battle of the five armies.

Liked this movie, especially the dragon who should have gotten more time in the movie in my opinion because Benedict Cumberbatch did an extremely good job. For the rest, this movie is all about the visuals, the story is pretty good for an action movie but does a poor job of explaining where all the enemies come from, they just appear from somewhere. Those flaws are forgettable, though, because the rest of the movie is great. I'd give it a 8 out of 10.

    Kingdom of Heaven (2005)

    IMDb rating: 7.2/10

Although I think at times the scenes were longer than they should've been, and that they should've focused on the other scenes that are far more important, and that the whole movie consists of 2 separate movies (one before Jerusalem, the other at Jerusalem), I must admit that I'm still in awe after watching it for the second time. Everything I wrote above falls into water when you just think about the message it sends, and it's still applicable in today's situations. I love history (everything from the first ancient civilizations to Cold War falls into that category that interests me the most), so it explains why I must like this movie very much.

Just to mention, most of the characters did actually exist (all the main characters), and the most significant events did really happen, but, as always, the writers added some parts just for the dramatization & whatnot.

It says on IMDb that it's 2:24 minutes long, but I've watched a version that lasts for full 3 hours, and I suggest you watch that one. Whether you need a pause because of its length or not, I recommend this movie.

    A fair 8.5/10 from me.

Visually it was amazing but I felt it dragged on and far too much action and soapy stuff. But I prefer more character development and proper story telling the like the original lord of the rings. It looked like they digitised Orlando Bloom's face he looked weird. There should have been more funnier moments and Stephen Fry and Billy Connelly should have been given more of an extensive role I mean this franchise was supposed to be more light hearted. I agree the dragon was killed off too early. Some of the fight scenes went on and on.

3 full hours instead of 2:24 minutes, wow that is quite a difference!

Seriously though, the full extended director's cut is still on my to watch list after all the positive messages I've read about it. Wasn't that impressed with the original theatrical version, but from what I read the director's cut is a completely different and vastly superior film and this seems to only confirm it, definitely have to check it out some time.

Haven't watched the shorter one, not that I intend on watching it. Hopefully we'll see your review soon.

Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies

Like the two before it, the 3rd installment continues with a lack of decent character development, poor tension/build and made up parts with no link to the book. Tauriel for example was a completely made up character (not in book) with more screen time than nearly all of the dwarfs and even Bilbo. Included simply for a forced love triangle which was just awful.

The acting was good all round, despite the terrible scripting used throughout. It was really bad at times. The side-story with Alfred had lots of this and was a complete waste of time...another forced role for the audience to hate.

Visuals were a mix of good to shocking, with most parts feeling like I was in a video game. Simple things like horses were over-polished digital fails which stripped any realness the film was hoping to achieve. The Orc leaders were good examples of this. Think back to the Orc Leader from 'The Fellowship', acted by a real person and is far more raw, intimidating, real and memorable in the 25 minutes of screen time he gets in 1 movie, compared to the 3 movies and signifigant screen time Azgol gets.

It was an entertaining popcorn movie that achieved none of the great things the LOTR did. Definetely a dissapointing trilogy that should have been either two films or not as rushed.

    7/10

It is not a movie but I finished watching From Dusk Till Dawn (TV Series) awesome! Absolutely loved the FDTD movie and had high expectations for the series and it did not dissapoint at all. They did a good job casting Zane Holtz as Richie Gecko.

Maybe you guys are more critical than me which is good, there are some definite flaws with the movie but I enjoyed it nonetheless because of the stunning visuals and because of Bilbo.
