***MINOR/MAJOR SPOIL ALERT***
It's even badder than the 6th. More fights (Vin Diesel, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson with the new addition - Jason Statham, + the chick fight isn't as nearly hot as I thought it'd be), more crazy/impossible jumps/stunts, bigger and faster cars, weapons and that helicopter/plane/drone thingy... Paul Walker is in the movie, but not as much as he was in the other ones (for obvious reasons), so Vin is in the focus. Absolutely no racing (except for that drag-race that lasted for about few seconds but was nothing special), pure action.
The thing about going back to "roots" didn't come to life. We only see the Race wars, Johnny Tran and Hector for a couple of moments, aaaaaaaand it's gone. Plus Dom's Charger and Brian's Supra (that is not the orange one from the 1st movie). One thing that really pissed me off was when Dom was thought dead, and Brian tried everything to make his heart beat again, but then Letty brushed him off, and started talking to "dead" Dom, how now she remembers everything, she loves him etc, and THEN he comes back to life. Oh piss off.
but
BUT
The ending was amazing. They didn't kill off Brian (Walker), but let him enjoy his family life, which is kind of nice. When you think about the monologue from Vin Diesel at the end, you may come to conclusion that this doesn't only apply to the movie, but his relationship with Paul in real life. I got only a bit sad, though I thought I'd shed a manly tear or two.
***END OF SPOILERS***
I can not rate it, because I'm biased (I loved most of the movies from the franchise), I don't like the big muscle guys fighting (and nobody gets a bruise) - I don't know what turns you guys and gals on, but it doesn't work for me, I don't like the big pile of impossible stuff, AND the ending is probably the best and most emotional scene of the movie.
Characters: Vin is, again, the Alpha and acts like a father (which I really don't like), Roman really brings a few laughs throughout the whole movie, Deckard brings a lot of fights and action (he's just like in Transporter, only badder), Hobbs is Hobbs, we rarely see Mia, I didn't even like Letty in other ones (except for the first movie), Tej is again, the technical mastermind and his and Roman's little fights do really make you laugh. Ramsey and Elena are not in the focus and they don't bring a thing.
All in all, you can watch it but if you didn't like the 6th one and/or you aren't a fan of the franchise, you can just skip this one. If you love action movies and everything I wrote above, watch it.
Furious 8 is going to be filmed (in NYC), and I think I'll skip that one. They should end this franchise, we all know it gets them $$$, but for god's sake who needs 453453 sequels getting shittier and shittier?
