Sorry for the little offtopic but seriously, go through the backlog, there are some absolute gems in there.
Well I discovered trance in 2009 (though the first track I heard, Tiësto - Elements of Life, is from 2007), but for me this era is symbolized primarily by artists like Andy Blueman:
^Disagree all you want, but I consider him one of the greatest producers ever to grace trance music. Other standouts for me from this time (which I haven't already seen on this thread) include but are not limited to:
^One of the greatest melodies ever put in a trance song
^and that's all I can think of off the top of my heard r/now
