I haven't been paying much attention to the event beyond the Google Doodles, but it really seems that Spain is getting their asses handed to them.

Yeah Spain is out already.

I don't expect much from the Netherlands team by the way. Heart's at the right place and I do hope they win of course, but they're always so inconsistent... Like today against Australia, it was just lacking fire and that closing (the deal) mentality, contrary to Friday's match against Spain. At some point you're at a low and the opponent isn't Australia but a team like Germany, and you're screwed. It's the same as last world cup in that respect, I'd they'd played like Friday in that final they would've won (by a margin though, Spain was way stronger than now of course).

Anyway, I expected to be out very soon but not losing first 2 matches by 1-5 and 2-0 Thanks for winning so much those past years, showing an impressive way to play football, but this is the end of an era. Casillas, Reina, Villa, Torres, Xavi, Puyol etc, thanks thanks thanks for all. This team have not hungry of winning, they have won everything in the national and their clubs.

We have one of the most successful young teams in the world, we have to bet on them from now.

You expected to be out soon? Why? You were in line to be the greatest team that ever existed if you had got the Cup. (2 Euros and 2 World Cups in succession) Surely the Spanish were hoping for a World Cup win...especially as they have been in form at club levels!
