The one child policy has helped their population out of poverty, and future problems with the health care for the elderly is a fucking breeze compared to the problems they were otherwise going to have. Their birth rate is equal to other countries such as Norway and Sweden, their population has been stabilized for years its not shrinking. And if you compare countries with a high birth rate to those with a low, you will see that those with a low birth rate are also those countries that has the highest standard of living.
That a low birth rate would be in anyway critical is nothing but a myth created to justify the overpopulation going on.
Don't you think the same arguments were made back when they applied this policy in 1979?
