It was an horrific event, but the Black Death brought a lot of social change - it ended feudalism for one, allowing workers to bargain their labour for better income/conditions. Very probably, it set the stage for the Renaissance.
The ultimate outcome would probably be less hunger and a better society, an opportunity to start over.
As long as it doesn't affect animals (or at least not in a major degree) i would lie if i didn't wish for a world epidemic.
