You forgot to mention the guy doesn't even do his own tracklists of his radio show and that he hires a ghost producer (Benno de Goeij) to do all his tracks, very passionate.
Ok, even if somebody other than Armin chooses the tracks for ASOT, so what? He travels every day, he doesn't have any time to go through countless e-mails and promos.

Ghost producer, are you serious? He clearly stated that he is co-producing with Benno, 50-50. He also said that Benno is the sound guy, he can make any sound he wants, and Armin usually writes, and gives the ideas. Benno is very technically gifted, who wouldn't want to produce with him? And isn't the ghost producer the one who produces for someone, and doesn't get any credit for it? Armin admits it, and even credits him.

Before you start saying something that isn't true, first think about it and/or google it.

    http://www.discogs.com/Armin-van-Buu...elease/2438417 - for crediting.

http://news.beatport.com/blog/2012/0...enno-de-goeij/ - Benno said how he produces music with Armin and Jochen.

Armin said the same things in some interviews, I'll try to find one and then post it.

Oh, here's one, on Armin's website, just read below the video: http://www.arminvanbuuren.com/news/2...-night-online/

Can't seem to find these interviews, they are not written, but recorded.

Armin is the greatest DJ of all time IMO.

But just because Tiesto went in a ridiculous direction, when both were into Trance and good music Tiesto was something out of this world.

I wouldn't like to comment on whether Armin is a #1 or not, as I know that I haven't yet been at any trance event (although I watched and listened to some of the DJs live on the internet). There are many DJs out there whose sets I haven't even listened to, so I'm uncompetitive to judge. Being a #1 means having the biggest fan base. And having a lot of genres makes the whole thing more complicated. In my opinion, there is no #1. When it would come to technical ability and creativity, and a lot of other important things for DJing, then it would be clear who is #1. This way it isn't.

i love his 2001'ish stuff, like his classic set for ID&T radio that he played the holden remix of into the dawn, some art of trance, opened with turquoise (different gear remix), etc... but the greatest dj of all time is too much. im between PvD and digweed.

Armin is fundamentally the best DJ at the moment, even if he is forced to play crap material.
Ricardo Villalobos/Sasha/other deep house (or minimal... whatever) guys do not count simply because they are not good enough, and the material they play is even worse.
(I must admit that Sasha & Digweed were pretty much the best close to two decades ago.)
edit: had Hawtin and Villalobos mixed up.

It's the same with elitists, they just manifest it differently. Instead of wanting their favourite artists to be popular, they want them to be a niche so they can see themselves as special and unique snowflakes. In the end, it's all about the ego.
If you just enjoy the music for what the music is, you don't really care. You can like Avicii and Henry Saiz at the same time without all those issues in your head.
    I fully agree with this.
