Who is 'I' or 'Alex' in this instance? Are you the same person today as you were yesterday? Are you always these things are do you come to embody them only some of the time?
I take the view that people are far more 'malleable' than others believe & I don't deem qualities such as the above as static or 'belonging' to an individual. I may come to do good acts or bad but they're not me. That sense of detachment can be shocking for some or liberating for others but to attribute traits to people I believe to be erroneous. You can say some people exhibit qualities more often than others but where does that stem from, is it a reflection of the individual or merely of their application?
I believe they attribute the above not merely to remain modest because of social expectation but to remain grounded, it is as important to identify fallibility as it is competence because it provides the basis for improvement.
Aside from all of the above:Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them.
~ Albert Einstein
What would 'I' deem to be my positive 'defining' characteristics in this moment.
'I' strive to be mindful.
'I' strive to cultivate compassion.
'I' do my upmost not to close my thoughts nor prejudge situations or other people by maintaining the two above.
It's interesting because I think the above brings through the same listed qualities you listed for yourself but it puts them in the light where they belong. I also believe anybody can come to embody all of these things should they put their mind & heart to it. I hope they do because 'I' think they promote the best in individuals and in society.![]()
