I have been following this topic from time to time, and would like to share something that might give the religious peeps a better understanding of my view. Over the years I have been following many, many debates and tried to see the subject from all possible angles to help shape my view on the subject. Here are almost all of the reasons why I'm an atheist, borderline antitheist, today.

1. Science
First of all if it were possible to prove gods existence I would be an instant believer, obviously, but as it is clearly most evidence points towards there being no god. By that I mean that science has pointed out a ton of fallacies in the bible.

2. God's motive
Why would god create life? To be praised and receive prayers? Also to me there's a big question about his 'almightyness'.
Why has he fucked up so many times? (Adam & Eve eating apple, flooding the planet to erase mistake and etc.) And why on earth (pun intended) create us and earth, we're almost the very definition of chaos.

3. Indoctrination
If you gave birth to a child in the middle of the forest and taught him everything you knew except telling him about theism and deities, he would never know a thing about religion. (And why wouldn't god make us all believe in him anyway?)

4. Punishment
Why would he be so punishing if he truly loved all? Homosexuality, atheism and even freakin' cursing at a parent is a sin worth a death penalty.

5. Us?
After reading #4 why are us, who by the bible should be dead, still breathing and (some of us) living a very happy life?

7. Pick n' choose
People have been taught about religion through the bible, so why is it you can pick and choose things from the very same book? If some of the book is bad/corrupt/untrue, why should the rest be true?

8. Moral absolutism
The bible depicts moral absolutism. Say there is a doctor who works at a child's hospital in Cambodia and saves lives daily, he grows ill and can't afford food and starts to starve to death. A young kid saves him by stealing a bread from a very wealthy family. That kid should be killed according to the bible.

10. There's an estimate of 4200 different religions
Religion has always been known as a tool of control and power.

11. Religion fights logic
Religion is based on belief which is illogical as it is simply the mere feeling that something is true.

12. Time
This is a fallacy in the bible I have to put forward as it is quite essential. The bible depicts that the world is around 6000 years old, which almost all of us know is highly unlikely. Furthermore the content of the bible really fits with when it was written and the society that existed back then, but if it was truly a holy book made by god, why isn't it universal?

13. Changes
Over time new rules have been made and rules have been abandoned. Also I ask again, why wasn't the bible universal when it comes to time? For instance Christians don't really know if they're allowed to watch porn or not, because it wasn't invented at the time the book was written, but wouldn't the 'almighty' god know such a thing would be made/invented?

14. Technology is the clear proof of evolution
Just look at how we're able to live longer and longer!? Isn't that clear proof of our increased ability to survive as a species? And also why would we be able to progress as a society (Inventing computers and what not) if god created us? Wouldn't he create the perfect world?

15. Why not just create the perfect world if god really had to create life?
Why create a world with so much chaos and misery? If it is to "test" us and see if we end up in heaven or hell that's just sadistic.

16. Why did gods' alleged interference with the world suddenly stop after the bible was written?
Did they run out of ink or didn't the bible sell enough to make a sequel?

Anyway I gotta cut this short, gotta go pick up somebody I could keep on making points all day long..
