I'm surprised you do because what business doesn't love a monopoly?

everything today is about lobbying and getting the most money out of it...sadly...
Unfortunately in an economic world only a few things combat corruption and destructive levels of ruthlessness. Competition, regulation & PR.

Competition - Keeps prices in check, innovation ticking over.

Regulation - Is there to prevent monopolies and for a single entity to use unfair leverage over others. Also to ensure baseline standards are met and that competition is kept healthy.

PR - (Relationship with clients / sales) keeps business on course, both to serve a need and to prop up regulation in a manner which befits public demand.
