That division was made to help people find and view trance releases because that is the focus of the site. We're simply using upstream sources to remain consistent with labels for a number of reasons. If releases not labelled as 'Trance' are in the 'Trance' section then please report them and we'll move them. If those releases are not what you consider to be trance please take your complaint to labels who choose their release definitions. If they're in order we'll then be in order.

As for tags they're undeniably useful when applied to clear decisions, e.g. a track either being released or unreleased. Applying them outside of such a framework however presents a problem. Not only do you reply upon distributed effort but you're hoping for a consensus on definition. To consistently & reliably apply genre definitions in such a manner is next to impossible. As such we defer such decisions to the source (the producers and the labels), then structure our sections accordingly. If we abandon that approach & leave user decisions to organise releases we simply bow to subjective definitions, creating disparity. Empowering for individuals but likely creating more problems than it solves.
