Matters like this can get overcomplicated. From a user point of view I think it's as simple as this; If the forum doesn't meet a need don't use it. From those running the site I think these questions are raised internally from time to time and adjustments made.

For your Q's

1. People who like Trance music.
2. A common meeting place for likeminded fans of the music, as well as ground to discover more in the genre.
3. A focus kept on Trance with wider EDM coverage.
