Good read.

I have grew tired of drops in couple of gigs I have attended during the last year. I mean those are constant. It seems that too many producers are doing 5,5-6 min long tracks with drops all the fucking time. I personally feel that there is no more room for dance anymore. Keep the basskick alive, it made older trance and house much easier are pleasent to dance to.

Trance’s Identity Crisis can be followed by House's Identity Crisis in my opinion. I feel that just like trance, too many house DJ's has lost the clue what made house so good during the "big room"-enthusiasm. If trance DJ's have forgotten that excellent melodies and good build-up makes awesome track, a lot of house DJ's have forgotten that the "groove" made house the easiest style to dance.

But these things of course does not apply to everyone and trance as well as house still has good stuff to offer. And the big room trend will not be permanent. Wait for couple of years and things will change again. To worse or better, one can only guess.

In the meantime, I will go to see Orkidea's set in few weeks and most likely I will leave the club happy.
