If you are free in your dreams, then why don't you go to places you always wanted to go?

What I find interesting is that you and so many other people are so simply lured into the whole "us vs. them" propaganda. In reality, a bunch of retards (95% of media) are telling us which retards to support (politicians in country x) and which retards to hate (politicians in country y).

You know, I'll admit don't know anything about this contest beyond what I've been hearing surrounding Conchita Wurst on Tumblr. I have no interest in it beyond that. But I need to say to all of you:
Stop with the jokes around her please.
From what I know Wurst does not appear to be a trans woman, but she does seem to identify as non-binary and prefer she/her pronouns. So please respect that. Remember that people who don't fit into the conventional gender binary, or who transgress it, are at a grave risk for violence from rhetoric like this. No one's intentions here are violent - I know that. But the fact of the matter is that our society sees people who transgress the gender binary - especially trans women - as freaks, deviants, dangers, and uglies. And while we may not be violent against them, we are raised to think the same way. (No one's exempt - if trans people have to spend their entire lives painfully unlearning these messages, as often happens to them, how can we say we have escaped it?)
These jokes are expressions of those feelings, and are not that morally different from racist jokes, or jokes about rape. They uphold negative stereotypes, regardless of our intentions, and these stereotypes kill. They lead directly to trans people's dehumanization, denial of basic rights, desexualization (or hypersexualization, and sometimes at the same time), psychological violence, rape, and death.
We don't have to like her performance, but the least we can do is respect these facts (as attested to by the lived experiences of millions of trans, genderqueer, non-binary and other non-white/western gender standard humans the world over), and refrain from humour like this, or using words like "tr*nny" (which is a slur). Don't get wrong - I like a lot of the people on here. There's good and kind human beings here at TF. But when it comes to this, intent doesn't count for anything.
I doubt I'll get anyone to actually understand where I'm coming from, and I'll probably get a lot of hate for this as well. But what you're doing is wrong. I know that sometimes I have to let it slide. But here, I'm not going to do that.
If there's anyone on here who is trans, genderqueer, non-binary or otherwise, please call me out if I've spoken over you or anything. Beyond that there's nothing more I'll say. Carry on.

There are jokes about men, there are jokes about women, now there are jokes about something in between. The jokes stem from how unusual it is. I don't see hatred. However, there is criticism because she wins not because of her music but because of her appearance.
I don't understand the beard by the way, it looks ridiculous. Doesn't mean she's not allowed to have that, but I'm allowed to think it looks ridiculous. I also think fat women with short, red painted hair look ridiculous, there's nothing wrong with not liking the way someone looks.

Wrong you not talking about entity you are talking about a country. Like it or not that's their politics like western makes theirs.
Now let me reverse what you said you want to force some one to accept your politics by implying that your views/politics are superior and unquestionable like pope. Leaders in your country shape polices and give opinions. When they are pro they still shaping policies and giving their opinion and adjusting to the people.
People voted for their leader and policies in Russia, as you did that's what voted that you like or not and they are entitled to their opinions and politics. You want to censor the rest of the world/ on criticism/ on opinions good luck with that you just simply don't see the irony when you say those views shape their opinion that's what your politics and PC politics is doing. Isolating from opinions/ criticisms.
Eurovioson has no f character or soul as a show they all sound the with same music ,robotic that is rehashed in mainstream america/ western Europe cheesy Pop/r&B/ electro pop in majority of cases over the years in and majority of songs are English, and always was is caught/ a platform of the politics of the moment and favoritism over talent. Only Holland over did them self form western stereotypes in eurovsion and brought real talent/band on table, and Montenegro who brought a song with real character in own language who represented their music and from music perspective a very complete/rounded song vocal wise musical/instrumental wise. And their can stick the song that they votted no 1/ gave a unfair advantage , the whole blitz shit, and their politics up theirs.

If Conchita wants to be socially accepted as a women then thats fine by me, but you cant expect people not to frown upon it, or find it oddly amusing when they see a man - who evidently takes quite some pride in his rather glamorous female appearance - sporting a rather eccentric head of facial hair. Because no matter how you look at it, that is not something you encounter every day, if at all. So I hope you can understand why I'm unable to accept it with quite the same grace as yourself.
May Mix

Well, I will admit that I don't know what Wurst's gender identity is. I've heard both that they're non-binary with she/her pronouns and a man in drag. It seems they may have been playing the whole thing up for laughs. But beyond Wurst, in any case, jokes like what I've seen on here still easily reinforce these harmful stereotypes (which stem from it being codified as "unusual", though many millions of people don't fit into traditional gender identities). Again, it's not bad intent or anything, but the fact that these stereotypes destroy like I already described. So it would be best to avoid such humour, Wurst or no Wurst (and I've seen some trans people criticizing them for doing the same thing I describe). It may not be something you see every day, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't respect them (and non-cis people aren't always immediately visible). That's all I'm saying.

This basically sums it up what was about:

http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_world...eferendum.html
Politics over talent. Euroviosn it has become a f joke. The rest Is idiotic extreme PC language/ isolation from everything/ and everybody.
