Stop with the jokes around her please.
From what I know Wurst does not appear to be a trans woman, but she does seem to identify as non-binary and prefer she/her pronouns. So please respect that. Remember that people who don't fit into the conventional gender binary, or who transgress it, are at a grave risk for violence from rhetoric like this. No one's intentions here are violent - I know that. But the fact of the matter is that our society sees people who transgress the gender binary - especially trans women - as freaks, deviants, dangers, and uglies. And while we may not be violent against them, we are raised to think the same way. (No one's exempt - if trans people have to spend their entire lives painfully unlearning these messages, as often happens to them, how can we say we have escaped it?)
These jokes are expressions of those feelings, and are not that morally different from racist jokes, or jokes about rape. They uphold negative stereotypes, regardless of our intentions, and these stereotypes kill. They lead directly to trans people's dehumanization, denial of basic rights, desexualization (or hypersexualization, and sometimes at the same time), psychological violence, rape, and death.
We don't have to like her performance, but the least we can do is respect these facts (as attested to by the lived experiences of millions of trans, genderqueer, non-binary and other non-white/western gender standard humans the world over), and refrain from humour like this, or using words like "tr*nny" (which is a slur). Don't get wrong - I like a lot of the people on here. There's good and kind human beings here at TF. But when it comes to this, intent doesn't count for anything.
I doubt I'll get anyone to actually understand where I'm coming from, and I'll probably get a lot of hate for this as well. But what you're doing is wrong. I know that sometimes I have to let it slide. But here, I'm not going to do that.

If there's anyone on here who is trans, genderqueer, non-binary or otherwise, please call me out if I've spoken over you or anything. Beyond that there's nothing more I'll say. Carry on.
There are jokes about men, there are jokes about women, now there are jokes about something in between. The jokes stem from how unusual it is. I don't see hatred. However, there is criticism because she wins not because of her music but because of her appearance.

I don't understand the beard by the way, it looks ridiculous. Doesn't mean she's not allowed to have that, but I'm allowed to think it looks ridiculous. I also think fat women with short, red painted hair look ridiculous, there's nothing wrong with not liking the way someone looks.
