When movies are being filmed it's usually for theatrical purpose which got a ratio on 2.40:1 instead of 16:9. When filming in 2.40:1 you get a 1920x800 resolution instead of a 1920x1080. When the movie is displayed on a 16:9 screen you get about 280 pixels which are the black bars you see. Hope that helps understanding why![]()
