Just got word that I won't get to see one of my closest friends (whom I love very dearly) at all this year. I was hoping for either Christmas or New Year's, since that's when she and her girlfriend (who's another very close friend - fortunately I'll see her) get a break from their intensive musical theater program in Ontario (and during the summer both of them stayed out East to do extracurricular work).

That would have been my only chance to see her in person this year. It's nothing I hold against her - she loves me too and wishes she could be here - but sadly can't afford it, and therefore must go back to stay with her less-than-ideal family and rather horrendous mother up north. So yeah - could be happier
