On a more serious note, though, i was in a similar position last month when my best friend returned home from China for a few weeks just as i was returning to Ireland to start uni again. I had intended to try get back again for a few days to catch up with him after id got my first week of the year out the way as i haven't seen him in well over a year, but i took ill and couldn't work up the energy to make the journey back over to Scotland. It was quite disheartening and i feel your pain.
