I like it. Silk Textures label is one of my favorite ones representing the genre very well
If you are free in your dreams, then why don't you go to places you always wanted to go?

I don't listen to deep house quite often, but I enjoy it. And "Mel" by Martin Roth is great!

Only Silk Textures sublabel. The other sublabels are far from deep house.

If you are free in your dreams, then why don't you go to places you always wanted to go?

Yeah some Deep House can be a little bland for my taste but some of it is alright though if it's produced to a great standard.

Isn't deep house like quite old though like from the 90's? I was listening to Miguel Migs and some of his compilations like back in 2002. I am not into the tech house influenced deep house that stuff bores me and I've never been a fan of. I prefer something more soulful kinda like the stuff traxsource.

deep sometimes can be an absurd genre to blow your mind... it's a shame that the scene looks so boring atm. Also i remember a discussion here about this like 1 year ago, when tiesto was playing this shit and even made a EM with white label deep house tunes. nothing special in his em actually.

whatever, the genre is just too good to sound bad because of the newcomers.

Listen to the Anjunadeep releases this year.

I'm really tired of that sound. Sounds all the same! Anjunadeep isn't on fire at the moment, it's the worst year ever for them.

Martin Roth is a exception. I Hope that shitty trend will ending soon. I hate commercial deep house.

No. Don't waste your time. I mean, it has a groovy bassline, but not much else...after 10 minutes of listening to the same bassline on loop, you'll get pretty bored. I once went to a deep-house event...I left early!

Sure, because you went once to some Deep House event and didn't like you are in the position to judge any deep house as "not worth s.o time". Just for your info deep house is one of the oldest and biggest genres within electronic music and it surely offers more than just a "groovy baseline".

I can imagine what sort of "deephouse" sets you are referring to thoght and yes they can be boring, however atleast they are not purely embarrasing to listen to like its the case with bigroom-edm or ASOT music. And a groovy baseline is atleast something, many tracks can't even provide that !
However lots of stuff that is being called deep house now isnt really deep house for me, because it doesn't fit with the term "deep".

So here we have the usual genre confusion again, its just so hillarious to see people fighting over those genres, while the genre terms itself are entirely random and can stand for pretty much anything nowadays.

I also don't say "trance is the biggest crap ever", because i've been listening to some shitty Armin set.

Mate, I'm open to new genres, so feel free to list some of your favourite producers/DJs/events or whatever. It's just from the deep-house I've heard, I wouldn't rate any of it more than a 4/10. But that's the same with some progressive trance too...it puts me to sleep! Of course, I know music is subjective and I respect people's taste, but for me deep house is boring. I mean, in my opinion a good trance track should have the 3E's: energy, emotion and euphoria. I don't care WHO you are, you can't argue that there's any energy or euphoria in deep house...sure, some tracks have a bit of emotion, but it's fairly limited. If I heard it in an elevator, I'd think "hey, this is better than the usual background music", but honestly, I'd rather hear brostep through a tin can than the go to another deep-house event! Still, I'd love it if you could suggest something to try and change my mind
