Classic Sets at the modern events.

Have you noticed an increase in Classic Sets billed onto events? I think the last 3 parties I went to had classic sets performed by at least one artist.

Anyone else like going to these events with old-skool sets or do you prefer hearing the latest current sets/tracls? Big fan of them myself!

Yes guess promoters noticed that quit some people love the classics. There are many 90s parties here as well with high visitor numbers. I heard the same goes for like Germany etc. Talked today with a foreign promoter who told me that one of his previous events pulled 8.00/ people, to see Scooter (!)

i honestly would not attend an event that only played the current crap. its awful and trance is dead. if someone is playing a classic trance or house set, then for sure i would go just for that.

We just had a sold out Trance event event with mostly underground artists, on a Wednesday. Call that trance is dead

I saw Signum play a few months back. It was a regular set and I had an amazing time. You'll be missing out on many good nights and times if you take that attitude.

I don't like trance anymore does not mean that trance is dead.

Less popular for sure but dead? Definitely no.

That being said, I do enjoy classic sets a lot and I think the amount of those has increased. It is not just quality of tracks that makes those interesting. It's the fact you recognize those tracks and of course those tracks are filled with memories and nostalgia.

I love the classics sets. Great to see that organisers booking this kind of sets more often.

People need to move on in life. Going to classics sets doesn't make you any younger.
