The April mix in your signature with the above post made it look like an Ultra set @Nangle, funny thing is it's better then the three sets from the big "trance" names.

    .....

What's Armin's problem to play like this every time?

It has it, his warmup sets are full of good music.

He can play well whenever he wants, but he does not do it.. Why?

Targeting to the crowd obviously. Imho the mass of certain huge events are quite different compared to the more underground parties.

Sure, but does it matter? I mean.. I think that people can listen almost everything that is being played nowadays.

If Skrillex can play what he plays, why Armin cannot play trance like this? Trance is cool for some people, because is different from Martin Garrix's "prog" house. And people like to be cool

People mostly come to gigs to hear what they expect to hear. If they don't get entertained, then it's pretty easy to move to another stage and don't come back to a DJ.

Easy mechanism that causes many djs to play easy accessable sets.

With all the wonderful sets of Resistance and Carl Cox & Friends stages i have really no interest in listening to any of ASOT stage sets

Sure, don't listen to Rayel's or Sixma's sets. But there are a lot of good sets this year. Have you seen ASOT 700 Argentina lineup? I think you can't miss that. But again, imagine Rayel isn't there.

I see his point though, I think the artists like Armin put too much weight on these types of tracks. I don't think people would actually leave, in fact I reckon they would equally enjoy some more serious stuff if he put it out. I think the name of the DJ is what they want! He should be braver!

Come on, Payo, don't be the next to enter in this stupid statement "Today's music sucks, so I will listen to the godfathers Cox, Digweed and Sasha, because they are cool".

Do you really thing that this joke of DJ, called Hot Since 82 (i stopped listening him 2 years ago because of boring and repetitive) did a better set than Pryda? Cassey's set wasn't special too. About Digweed, the same vibe from Transitions. I personally don't like his style right now, but sure.. it's not bad. Saying that, John's tracklist from the other night does not fit in a festival like Ultra. I'll appreciate it better in a small underground club, where you can actually stay and enjoy the music.

Armin's, Paul's and Prydz' sets were pretty good, and there is no reason for denying that, even if Armin plays commercial at most of his parties. He killed it yesterday, and thats good because we enjoyed some nice trance and good mixing. )

Hey, there are more fans of them, like me!

Talking about the Resistence party. Seems like Joseph Capriati's set was pretty much fucked up as what he says due to a technician who didn't know what he is doing.

Guy J's set was something out of this galaxy, the best set at the festival by miles

There is a nice comment from John Digweed in the link below. I may not like his current sound but I do agree with him.

“If you’re the biggest DJ in the world, you’re in a position where you can play stuff that people don’t know and blow people’s minds, but if you just chose to play stuff they know just to get a reaction, that’s just being lazy,” Digweed said, directing his comment toward main-stage artists. “There’s no challenge there.”

There is something that Digweed forgot to say: None DJ at this moment will get any contract to play on Ultras ot Tomorrowland's Main Stage if he does not play popular tracks. Big percentage of the crowd is not into EDM. They are pop artists who insteat of singing, mix some famous tracks. What pisses me off is that they are cowards and non of them recognized that. Is there anything wrong to tell how reality is? After all, they will tell only the truth and that's not a crime.

I don't think that. Armin played a lot of new songs in his ASOT stage set. And maybe his set on mainstage this year wasn't so good, but remeber last year when he played Silhouette (Allen&Envy remix) or Won't let you go (Standerwick remix) and that bootleg (Broning) of Animals? I think Digweed and PvD targets are clowns like Aoki, DV&LM or Garrix.

The only thing I hate about Armin is that he's promoting Rayesl's and Sixma's trouse. But overall, you can't compare him with mainstream EDM clowns.
