I forgot to write how all Bond movies follow a similar, linear pattern. In the beginning, there's an action scene, where they find out something about the main villain, and then they go out to hunt him. In the end, Bond always gets caught by the villain who imprisons him, tells him everything about his evil mastermind plan. He doesn't kill him personally, he doesn't have somebody kill Bond in front of him, and nobody kills him right away - he must be killed according to the evil plan - whether he is tortured by lasers/needles/ropes hitting his balls or any other devices, whether he's imprisoned and waits for his death by explosion/drowning/alligators etc. And he always gets away.
Not really retirement age the law in the UK is 67 so Bond would have to stock around till 67.

I went to see this with my girlfriend last night and after weeks of trying to convince her to join me I'm now eating my words and face a life time of watching chick flicks. Firstly, the minor positive: It was Great to see Marvel go against the grain and introduce an ultra violent and gory comic book film/character, but my endearment was short lived by their excessive use of sarcasm, sexual jokes and general corniness - something that has become synonymous with the Marvel brand. Don't get me wrong, i anticipated some humour throughout the film and laughed occasionally, but it became tiresome and subsequently redundant after 30 minutes or so. Ryan Reynolds literally couldn't finish a sentence without a sexual slur or assemblage of swear words, which is rathe ironic coming from a Scotsman since vulgar is generally accepted in day to day life. Potential for a great film ruined by obtrusive humour.

One of the things I'm afraid of too. Would like to see this movie, but definitely not a fan of Ryan Reynolds his humor at all. Then again all comic book movies are a joke if you think about it.

Honestly, you cant begin to comprehend how excessive it really is until you see it. This is Ryan Reynolds and Marvel at their worst, mate.

IMDB has had its voting system manipulated for years now. Production companies know how powerful it is in getting people into the cinemas and IMDB partners with them, selling itself out like there is no tommorow. Not to mention the thousands and thousands of fake voting from paid foreign accounts is huge, just like in facebook, twitter etc. This is why you see every big hollywood movie with insane ratings during release week.

Indeed, if I had to pick a place I would pick Rottentomatoes. Much more reliable imo.

And I have to agree, 8.6 for Deadpool is definitely too much, but you also have to look at how many people have rated the movie. 158.000 is not that much and if you look at a movie like the first Avengers, more than 900.000 have rated it. I think Deadpool will rate in at 8.1 - 8.2 when the hype is over.

Having watched it two times now I think my final rating would end at 7 or a bit more - I ended up giving it a 7 on IMDB. My main problem with the movie, after watching it two times, is how much it actually relies the humor. It doesn't really bring that much originality and almost every frame/scene is pretty mainstream. There's nothing really unique about how it's filmed or the soundtrack.

I definitely think Guardians of the Galaxy is a better movie and the humor fits better.

You saw it in the cinema? Though the trailer looked promising though! Thanks for the advice.

yeah mate...i was excited af by the trailer, it looked so good that i was like "I need to see this"...and i love horror movies but this one bored me to death...read A LOT of good reviews but these people must have very low standards for judging movies lol...storyline and plot were not there...nothing creepy or scary about the film...and then when the film ended, i was like where was the plot/storyline at? I was really scratching my head...if you wanna watch it, watch the bootleg before spending the money mate

I just watched The Visit. Usually I am not a fan of shaky camera movies, but it worked good in this one and I did not see that plot twist coming. Good one Mr Shyamalan!
If you are free in your dreams, then why don't you go to places you always wanted to go?

It's a good movie indeed! Hopefully Shyamalan picks himself up and will get to his roots. For me The Sixth Sense and Signs are still masterpieces.
