    Edit: trance is dead.
Yeah... "Trance is dead", everything is dead, time to turn off the light and blow up this world... blah blah blah...

    No

For real this album sounds top notch from snippets judging. Just dont expect much trance. Its mostly a romantic vocal ballad chill type of album.

To be honest, I was also expecting something more - especially after Steve's words about full trance album, about all these instruments he was using to make it - but... well, maybe we should wait for the album; 1-minute long previews won't tell ou everything.

And to be clear - no one can kill the music genre

Well produced indeed.. probly not going to purchase it though.
I personally think the album isn’t going to do very well in general despite steve’s brilliant production skills...If the first track you announce as part of your album is a melodic trance masterpiece resulting in quite the hype……

and you then show up with 80% vocal/pop trance/ballad tracks and two remakes..

to me it’s a bit like having a 5 star Michelin starter-course..and then proceeding to macdonalds
I’ll defo pick up the remake of halcyon though, and maybe another potential gem or two, we’ll see…

Chicane originally produced Halcyon - whats the link here? He just decided to rework it? Either way,the Airscape remix is the best version hehe.

True, but Armin (and his team) is doing his best the last couple of years.

Anywhere With You (feat. Stine Grove) , Really? Is it a rework or just the original from 2013?

I wasn't all hyped up for this album but after Amber i was interested. Now seeing so many vocal tracks (and allthough i like vocal trance, the tracks released nowadays are mostly awful) im not so sure anymore.
But maybe Steve did it better, one can never know...

Oh yeah the vocals fit great on the 6:10 Version, this it is definitely a lovely one compared to today's vocal uplifting trance tracks.

I hoped for a different tracklist too. But I think it will be a fantastic album, music sounds to fit perfectly album's theme. Seems it has everything you (I) need to escape for one hour through his music. Smooth 4 min opening, all vocal tracks sound wonderful and I am glad they are small(!), nearly 3-4 minutes. Feel downtempo and chilled, with beautiful and relaxing sounds. @SleepyRobot This rework sounds so good. I don't mind that it considered a rework, sounds great and I love Grove's voice. And beyond break-vocal tracks, we get normal length trance! I expect to have really smooth flow, something that every good album and compilation needs.

btw I am still listening to Wolves again and again and I can't get all negative comments.

@Daysleeper why did you say I'm sorry, your album was great and then say all that negative stuff about it? I am assuming you meant to say "wasn't" great or else you would be completely contradicting yourself and why would you apologize to someone for calling their album great? I have to assume it was a typo, what do you really think of Eco's album?

I think regradless of the track list and the rework of classics and old track just thrown in there (Anywhere with you) for what reason exactly?....that this album will still deliver. I was hoping for a lot more instrumental longer tracks.

And i remember someone saying it was going to be 16 or 18 tracks something like that. It begs the question, why did this album take so many years and get delayed so much for 11 tracks (the other track is old) 2 of which were reworks...so thats really 9 new tracks (mostly vocals). If it took him this long to make 9 tracks it must mean he really put a lot of time and energy into making those 9 tracks really good. This is just me thinking out loud and trying to figure it all out. I really anticipate that this is going to be great...

Eco, Im sorry, your album was great.

Edit: I just came to my senses about these old heroes of ours. M.I.K.E,Airwave,Rank1,Thrillseekers etc. They are done with this trance thing. They are just too old holding on to something they no longer are in the right spirit to create. I think they should spend their time in the studio making music for other people/tv/movies etc.

Edit: It sounds tight and well-produced though.

    Edit: trance is dead.

Haha. Eco's album is nowhere near great. Objectively speaking. Ask a well-experienced music listener (non-hipster) and reviewer and he would prolly rate it 5-6/10. It was just a first counter-reaction to this album and sort of sarcastic one.
