Myer & Briggs test, ever taken it?

Some month ago when i applied for a job i had to do some personalitytests before the interview round started. I found it rather silly to be honest, but to be a bit prepared i ended up googling personalitytests etc and found this one.

Ive heard about it before many times but i just havent bought into these things.

Anyhow i took it, and it kind of blew my mind.

It was so correct it was almost scary.

    ENFP is my personalitytype.

What is yours? If you want to tell that is.

And if you do, did you feel the results where correct?

    Take it here <---

I really recommend it even if you dont want to share the results.

    Famous ENFP's:

Robert Downey Jr, Alicia Silverstone, Robin Williams, Meg Ryan, Russell Brand, Drew Barrymore,Quentin Tarantino.

    INTJ.

Disclaimer: I had some difficulties with answering the questions. It's not that simple, and I think personality tests are 'putting it in a box' too much (or rather too broad so everyone can relate) so I'm not a fan of them. This is, however, interesting, will take a better look when I'm on my laptop.

Also just want to say to other people that happen to stumble upon this thread that the picture J4mie posted isnt the test result you get but something he found somewhere else. The result you get from the site i linked to is way more extensive than using keywords.

Not saying that the keyword picture he posted isnt correct for his type or anything but it can be kind of hard to read anything at all from just keywords

It's a good job you're no longer of a suitable age because you sound like the fitting criteria for a high school shooter, Jamie.

No offense or anything but you may be too young to take the test. I obviously dont know your age but i remember you saying that you werent borned when there was a war in your country. That was 92-95 if i remember correctly. So you are younger or around 20 years old ^^

You arent completly dry behind your ears yet. Even if you think so :P

Yep, especially work-related questions weren't easy to answer. I'm 21, and none taken.

It's very interesting, I have taken a similar test on this forum some years ago, and remarkably (or not so remarkably) the results are the same.

    INFJ
The INFJ personality type is very rare, making up less than one percent of the population
This is interesting and something I think I can relate to, however when looking at the number of comments on this website, one would expect much less comments than on the other profiles. This is not the case, leading me to believe that either this test (or these kind of tests) brands people INFJ too easily or it's not as rare as they think it is.

INFJs tend to see helping others as their purpose in life, but while people with this personality type can be found engaging rescue efforts and doing charity work, their real passion is to get to the heart of the issue so that people need not be rescued at all.
INFJs indeed share a very unique combination of traits: though soft-spoken, they have very strong opinions and will fight tirelessly for an idea they believe in. They are decisive and strong-willed, but will rarely use that energy for personal gain – INFJs will act with creativity, imagination, conviction and sensitivity not to create advantage, but to create balance.
There's a lot more of course but I won't bore you all with that. In many ways this is incredibly accurate. Honestly it nearly sends shivers down my spine to think how much I can relate to all these things and have been doing so for all my life. There is however one thing that doesn't really match me and that is charisma. A big part of this personally type is actually charisma, popularity, the ability to inspire others. Famous examples are Martin Luther King or Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings. I don't see myself having that, not even a little bit actually, let alone on the level that these examples have this. But, like these examples, I also don't strive to be and am perfectly content (probably happier) to fly 'under the radar'. I think charisma like in these examples is actually something you are born with or you're not and I'm pretty sure I'm not.

By the way another famous example that isn't included here but I think very much fits this category and someone I can strongly relate to is Lisa Simpson from the Simpsons. I think she was mentioned for this personality on a similar test years ago.

Few personality types are as sensitive and mysterious as INFJs. Your imagination and empathy make you someone who not only cherishes their integrity and deeply held principles but, unlike many other idealistic types, is also capable of turning those ideals into plans, and executing them.
In the end of course you can't put people in boxes too much, but I'd say this personality type definitely fits me the best (very often exactly so) when comparing to other possible profiles on this website.

    INFJ
It was problably the same test but with different questions. Ive done it 3 seperate places now and all of them had different questions, allthough very similar ones. I ended up with same result on all the 3 places.

I was actually wondering how they could say that a certain type is this and that common. Im pretty sure every country for example would be different depending on what culture and society they have. You cant really just take 50k random tests and say that the percentage rate will be correct. Alot of stuff to take into consideration. Anyhow im sure theres a lot behind it. I find it very interesting. Im going to do some more reading on these, maybe i will find out how they calculate it.

I took a look at your personality type and here is how i read it concering the charisma:

''They have very strong opinions and will fight tirelessly for an idea they believe in''

For me this isnt aimed at being charismatic as a person. The charisma is decided by the cause i think. Martin L King fought for a big cause that many could support. Would he be as charismatic if he was fighting for the survival of ants in the amazonas?

Problably not, but he would still be fighting tirelessly for an idea he belived in, ergo he would still be an INFJ. If you catch my drift :P

I had a few stuff i couldnt relate to also.

Also im pretty sure that most of the people that are same personality type as me is problably very different than me, all depending on life experience, how good you know yourself etc and a million other factors.

But we share some of the same traits, the difference is how we use them.

I dont know really. Like i said, im going to read more into this as i found it very interesting ^^

I understand your point, but I think for example Martin L. King had genuine charisma. Of course he was fighting for a noble cause, but he also sparks inspiration, just by talking and standing there. At least he has that effect on me and I think many others. In my experience I could only dream of this. Even though I'd say people are generally very friendly to me, I also don't feel taken seriously. I feel like I am pretty approachable to people (in particular to older people) as they often come to me and tell me random stuff or start conversations. I think this is because I look much younger than I actually am. People always underestimate my age, in fact last summer I got hit on by two 14-year olds (for real! ) who thought I was like 17/18. Even though I was almost 22 then.

This is actually one of the reasons why I can really relate to Lisa Simpson who is also INFJ. She has the same problems, people just think she's adorable and don't take her seriously even though she makes good points and talks about serious stuff. But even though she can't relate to a lot of others, she still loves those others and is loved by them.

It is very interesting indeed! I let some of my friends make these tests. Their results matched almost 100% in my experience! As I was reading it, I was thinking 'that is so them!' and surprisingly, not me. One of them said "yeah it matches quite well but it's pretty general stuff, anyone would probably identify with it." Which is funny because a) I was thinking the same thing when I read about 'my' personality and b) I don't agree with it, because as I was reading about 'his' personality, there were so many things I couldn't relate myself to (but which did make complete sense for him). So yeah even though of course everyone is very different, I think these different types really do exist somehow. Of course it is all somewhat general, but it's specific enough to really differentiate between personalities. There is no other type I had a match with that was on the same level as INFJ.
