Thread: Can trance be muscially equivalent to the masterpieces written outside the genre of club music?

    No, it can not be.

    If you consider trance being a genre with certain genre rules and production standards.
    Simple, as long there is this kick banging on peoples eardrums, any club/pop music won't be taken seriously.
    As for trance, there probably are people making wonderful melodic compositions, which resemble trance,
    but ultimately stray into the "Electronica" genre.

    The closest trance will ever be to musical masterpieces is through artists like Jean Michelle Jarre, or (psy/goa) trance-ish
    movie soundtracks of "The Matrix Trilogy" by Juno Reaktor.
