Not overly surprised that the tempos are lower than they were originally
A recent offering from Perrelli & Mankoff:

They are a bit too slow indeed. For DJing I would pitch them up at least 3%.
I just compared them to the old original versions, very nice polish on these re-productions! Loving the punchy bass-drums

These sound worse than the original. Forget that the tempo of the track was slowled down, but increasing the pitch ruins it. Garbage remaster. It makes it sounds like Shitty Trouse EDM garbage.Everything sounds like it's crammed together, muddled up.

The so called remastered versions sound harsher on the ears. Can't people tell how bad this new version sounds? It seems that producing this track this way was done intentionally.

Listen to original masterpieces. They sound way more polished and nicer on the ear.

Its been hit with (Now Flashover Sound).

Especially the Kicks thats where its noticable. Also the tracks have been changed quite a bit. Ive just listened to the Original and new Gouryella - Gouryella and its as if all the Tijs Verwest Sound has been taken away. Which Im happy with. However agree with a poster above it does sound *Not For The Trance Market*

My theory concerning this is that many people hear this -----> louder+clearer = better. At first the remasters appears to sound better but if you really compare them and when you listen to the old ones there's no doubt they sound more clean, ands its important to distinguish between clear and clean. But I think people are so used to digital sound design and mastering that when they hear the old more "cold" punchy delivery and wider soundstage it automatically translates to weak and dated.

In one way the old tracks actually sounds more harsh, especially the claps and kicks. About everything in the mix except the midrange/vox actually. Its a cold sound. But with that I don't mean harsh like in noisey or scratchy. The problem lies in te volume, sound stage and mastering. Everything comes down to pure subjectivity, biased opinon and what you're used to.

I must admit after second listening the tracks sound very different to their originals. I would say the originals sound far, far, far better and if its the right terms to say, "Don't Fix What Ain't Broken" if in fact Im surprised by Corsten of Ferry, he did not go down the route of Ferry Fix'ing these tracks to make them sound any better.

Some sounds are much better, such as pogo'ing in to differet ears. But some of the Original sound such as the Ligaya String is too weak. The vocals were in the original very sharp, in the new one its almost burried in the the track lower down.

I just dont know if Ferry would look back on this one day and think I should have done Ferry Fix'es insted.

Do you mean that it's mixed?

Its the prerecorded set that Ferry played on events like EDC and Electronic Family. Pretty blatant... and lame :")
