    Did Soundcloud commit suicide?

I've been observing soundcloud for a long while now, think I've been a member since eight years (with a little breakup). Ever since soundcloud introduced the tags and removed the group structure, it looks like the real fun is over.

I see many artists with a negative trend in their ammount of plays. Also for myself it's a tough job to reach over 10 plays. Yes I could do some more facebook promotion, but where are the days that soundcloud was flying high? What are the tricks to get more plays or what are the alternatives? And yea, why did they ever kill the groups structure? It worked great for so many people....
Happiness is everywhere, but it's never complete...

The only bad thing i can say about SC is some copyright issues with some of my mixes being blocked and one ridiculous time i had an original production blocked.

As a producer it has been a godsend over the years, its the only platform where ive been able to put my tracks and mixes up for permanent download for people worldwide (25k in total downloads so far) ..its well worth the £60 sub fee every year.

Im not sure what you mean by negative play trends, but my stats have been improving every year in that department.

Its a big compliment to the site that it has kept its userbase throughout the years, espeically the big names. Im surprised theres never been a real alternative! Hearthis never really got going imo.

Oh right, seems to be one of the most used now by artists I follow although mainly in genres Psy-Trance, Psybient but also hip-hop and downtempo too. Seems like lots of underground to mid-ground artists have been adopting it as a selling and promotion platform. For listener (like me) I find it the best platform as it has the full sample audio of tracks and often 'Pay what you want' option which I will often use.

Not sure what the experience is for the producer/DJ though!
