The Thrillseekers pres. Hydra - Artist Album

Confirmed by Steve on his FB page:

    https://www.facebook.com/thrillseeke...01098418530405

We also have a potential timeline as he's been given a 10-month deadline to finish production. That most likely won't include mastering etc.

Sorry but I think you need samples (though this can be moved to Music Related Discussion).

I'm excited anyways, but I can hardly imagine a concept of ~10 tracks in the same style (which he's basically done by restricting it to the Hydra sound). My guess: A few chillout/ambient tracks, a few slower and a few faster trance tracks. Very little vocals, which is what I'm hoping for.

All in all, I have every faith in Steve and am sure that there'd be at least a few good tracks if the album comes to light.

As long as he does this as a proper full new artist album and not that jumbled mess he just released with old tracks with "2016" at the end, old unreleased tracks with an updated sound and vocals on 90% then we should be good.

Looking forward for this album. Judging on my personal taste it's always better than his last Thrillseekers popalbum (Some great instrumental tracks I must admit)

Because he never really made any memorable tracks. And his Thrillseekers album was a laugh.

I wasn't a fan of 'Escape' either, mainly due to all the downtempo/vocal heavy stuff. I gave my copy away for free (hope you aren't reading Steve haha), but he's certainly made many memorable tracks and remixes over the years, whether under The Thrillseekers, Hydra, En-Motion IMO.

Some of the finest classics from the genre are down to the man.

He's also stated up front that all tracks will be 'journey style' Trance tracks which rules out the sort of stuff featured on 'Escape'. 'In These Arms' I guess is a taster of what to expect.

Maybe it's not his most memorable of all time in terms of lead melodies, but I find far more enjoyment in this track than almost anything out at the moment. Production wise it's great, and certainly he's recaptured a certain degree of that classic sound.

I think there's certainly potential for the Hydra album to be good...or even pretty great.

Apart from Escape, which I'm not a fan of, Steve has been in top form in recent years. I have high hopes for this album as well.

Could be brilliant, although it could run the risk of having 'samey' plucky tracks..

Id love him to mix up these kind of plucky melodies with a harder kick and more energy - just like his Rapid Eye stuff - it was a great combination.

During Zurich Street parade I had a chat with Viktor Kidson about my Hydra album that I'm currently working on. Here's the full interview.
