There's a difference between 'anthems' , and 'official anthems' of course mate. An official anthem would be a track written specifically for, or chosen for an event or something in particular. Something such as those Sensation Anthems from over the years.
Trance 'Anthems' is just a case replacing the word 'classics' with 'anthem'. They are of course still classics, but 'anthems' is more synonymous with those commercial classics found on the compilations we speak of.
I was simply suggesting that some people may only class the sounds/tracks featured on those sorts of compilations as classics giving them a far smaller list.
Delerium - Silence
Binary Finary - 1998
BBE - 7 Days and One Week
Faithless - Insomnia
PVD - For An Angel
...you know the rest of the script
A 'choon/tune' though is simply a slang, descriptive term for a 'banger' haha![]()

:-O this is exactlly what was looking for, i was listening this compilation of FSOL https://youtu.be/vU7rBcEOczM?t=435 and also want to know name of the track in 7:15min, thank you very much
I do not say there is not more great songs whether it be from 1991 or from 2006 that is why i had till the end of the year 2016 "only" around 1112 songs. I still listening and looking for great songs, and I am grateful for every inspiration/help as Hensom did it now.

My own Trance Classics playlist on my media player has nearly 3000 tracks, and that's only from and including 1988- 2008. Saying that, it does include several remixes of certain tracks etc which will put the numbers up. Just shows you how different each of our views can vary though
What about this one from Resistance D from '91? Not going to be to everyones taste of course, but for some of the earliest sounds this certainly falls into classic territory IMO.

I thought I explained it pretty well myself, but sorry if you don't understand what I was getting at here.
I'll try again:
I'm referring to how some peoples lists of classics vary massively in size. Of course we all have different rules and so on and it's all subjective.
What I was pointing toward was a theory that some may only class those more commercial/obvious tracks found on the likes of 'anthems' compilations as classics and not those outwith.
It's much the same as people only referring to the glory years stuff as the classics, but to a lesser extent.
"Anthems" to me, refers to those tracks I previously mentioned. The most successful/commercial/obvious releases.
Those tracks ARE still classics yes (including many of the most popular classics of all time). I'm simply suggesting that they may look at anthems to compile their list of classics, and not include some of the lesser known, hidden gems out there that we all know and love. Tracks that deserve to be on those compilations but never see the light of day because of those usual suspects.
Just felt it was a valid point. I'm not suggesting you do this yourself.
As I said we've all got our own sets of rules....maybe some of us out there have this set. Of course it'd take a much more casual fan to do so.

Yeah i re-read your first post and know what you mean now about peoples views on 'Anthems'.
Sorry its just me confusing matters ha!
In relation to the actual thread starter and his question,i kind of know what hes getting at as ive wondered it aswell...theres hundreds of great tracks in Trance if you look back...but would there be that expanse and sheer volume if you looked at say, Rock or RnB music?
