Problem with Soundlift his recent tunes is that the climax is not banging enough for me.....
He got a great break and then the climax is lacking

It's one thing calling out the EDM guys for so obviously selling the soul of the music for a cash grab, but you can't dig on a man for making music that feels right for HIM. This aint my taste either btw.

He likes what's he's doing and put his soul in his music and don't even want to be a dj. Some tracks are really good, some not.
Better than all those edm sellouts producers (former trance) out there to get more gigs (and eventually more money).

His best tracks were Cougar Magnum, Victorious, Horizonte, Sorrow and Amnesia remixes, Nakhti.

It's good that he's still producing, but this cannot keep up with the complete euphoria of some of his better tracks.

Together with Andy Blueman I consider him the best orchestral trance composer. Disappointingly, most people here don't like that.

They both kinda popularized this sub-genre. Used to love their works back in 2013 when I was actively listening to that whole sub-genre, the Abora and Blue Soho stuff. Andy Blueman's remix of Tuvan by Gaia was a track I considered a masterpiece. However my taste changed as I started listening to more and more of classic trance. Hard to come back after that.

The orchestral trance scene is not inventive anymore. Many orchestral trance producers have moved toward the more original sound or quit alltogether. There were some good releases in the past few years, most notably Paul Pele - Homeland, some of Illitheases recent releases, A&Z - Noir, Bardalimov - Tangerine. But the epic days of 2012-2014 are gone.

Blueman was on another level to everyone else in that style imo.

Blueman started that whole sub genre way before everyone else...we are talking 2005. It took other producers a few years to even start copying it (badly).

Well you are right. But in 2011 the whole subgenre exploded, with Simon O'Shine, Afternova, Illitheas, Arctic Moon, Sound Apparel, SoundLift, ReOrder, Running Man, Chapter XJ, Ronny K, Kelly Andrew, New World...

Most of them produced at least one track that I consider very good-to-exceptional, which cannot be said of todays producers.

It must be noted that Andy Blueman was highly represented in Armins 2013 Top 2000 Trance tracks. None of all trance producers managed to have such a high percentage/amount of their releases in there.

Yeah but how many of those 2011 tracks were proper orchestral breakdowns? Blueman was classically trained, thats where the great melodies also come from. Those other producers cant do film scores aswell. Most of the imitations are really cheap sounding strings with a boring melody. You need a proper epic melody for that style or it wont work. Theres been a couple of exceptions such as Apprehension.
