    Best radioshow

    Hi,

I've Always been listening to radioshows, ASOT, FSOE and Uplifting Only mainly. However, I think that ASOT is too proggy/big room, FSOE too much FSOE and Uplifting Only focusses on orchestral, which is crap nowadays most of the time.

I was wondering, do you have any suggestions for an alternative radioshow? I think Kearney, Tyas, O'Callaghan, Dymond etc. all have their own. I am specifically looking for a show aiming for uplifting, not progressive, psy or whatever. A show that is not too mainstream, but also airs less commercial tracks - if decent.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Have you tried Will Atkinson's BBC Radio1 Residency mixes? It's a monthly radio show, with episodes on each 1st Thursday of the month. Haven't listened to it but I suppose it might be good.

Solarstone's Pure Trance Radio is perhaps my favourite, although I'm not a huge fan of listening to radio shows. It goes from progressive sounds to faster trance, and never really going too steroid or edm for my taste. ASOT is absolutely unlistenable these days, it makes my head hurt in less than a minute.

It is surprisingly good, reason being that it has so much diversity in what Will Plays. I think the folks at BBC would like a broader range of electronic as Trance is not popular really with the radio crowd. If you go in with full Uplifting straightaway it wont sit well so Will usually puts out a good mix of BPM and styles leading up. I always discover new tracks In his shows.

I will definitely have to, especially after this. I've listened to one of his recent live sets and was very impressed.

Global Trance Grooves is still my favourite one though. It can be bit boring though at times, but I still think its the best radioshow out there. Turbo mix is great pounding stuff. Solarstones has way too much talking. John knows to keep it brief and let the music do the talking.

I actually like the talking, there are million of radio shows out there, and anyone could play the same tracks (or at least similar). Talking is what gives it depth and character, you get to hear the dj's thoughts and background of the track/artist.

For me radio shows are for mostly about finding new music, so I'm listening to very carefully and analytically. But if I just want a set on the background, I'd pick something without talking and with content I'm familiar with.

Same here. The talking gives the show a personal touch, and Rich has a pretty nice accent and good humour too.
