I keep on wondering why producers spend precious time on these remakes of classics. Forcing it in a modern overcompressed template, making it sound like any other modern release. The classic a&b club mix is still perfectly playable in any uplifting set.

I agree - i did an alternative chilled version last year...as i couldnt ever attempt a 138bpm normal Trance remix of it - as it would just cheapen the classic original.

The thing about Satellite is that the accapella is readily available (rare that a Trance one is) and its just so popular with clubbers worldwide - youre bound to get some attention with it.

I actually really like this rework, it's very respectful to the original and is just a nice upgrade.

You can't upgrade perfection, and the A&B remix is already a 140bpm track that fits in perfectly well even up against songs with an extra decade of loudness warfare veteran status. In other words, it fits in perfectly fine with a James Dymond set. At least with something like Bluestone's remix it sort of made sense because the original is much faster than his stuff and would just sound stupid slowed down so much. The converse can also be true, which is why I'm fine with the Aly & Fila remix of "Beautiful" for example.

Full disclosure: didn't actually listen to the bootleg. I think I know what to expect. And a Dymondified take on a classic doesn't bother me by default, I just don't know why he would do it to a song whose tempo and timbre are already in his wheelhouse...

Agree, it works as an adaptation so he can play it on his sets.

    Is it necessary? No.

Is it a bad remix? No.
