    Signature sounds.

Which sound/a defined some acts to you?

I'll start of with the famous A&B bass fx. What is that @point @Magdelayna

Rank 1: The percussion at the beginning of Airwave is by far one of the most iconic sounds in Trance

Astral Projection: Signature "goa trance" beat

Scot Project: triplets (throughout the track) and the single-chord stabs (~2:16) which were later copied by everyone else

    Nalin & Kane: balearic percussion

It's basically just a filter sweep sound, filter cutoff rises quickly during the sound. I think the base sound is a bit FM-ish, which makes it sound unique. Perhaps a bit of distortion, amplitude release and reverb included. I really miss those type of anjunatrance sounds in modern productions, sweeps grrrls whooses acids and other transitional / fill sounds at the end of bars.

Solarstone synth-guitar lead (nord lead) is pretty unique, Seven Cities, Solar Coaster, Touchstone

    I'll take the easy one.

The drums with The Digital Blonde tracks (starts in 1:50). Also that synth around 5:00 is something that is frequently used.

They obviously used the same percussion loop lol. Unless Armin accidently created the same exact one.

It happened a lot in that era with the dutch guys, but then again they did invent that Trance anthem style that blew up that year...Rank 1,Armin,Ferry etc all used very similar one hit sounds and percs, they were obviously all in communication with each other - Armin used the Gouryella bassline in one of his other remixes i remember.

Tiesto! His sound was amazing and you could recognise it instantly. It got me into Trance music
