Astral Projection - For All Mankind [2018] - Artist Album

Looks like they are still using their old equipment, which is great to hear.

It sounds like their oldschool stuff indeed. But I gotta say, when I first heard Astral Projection (and other goa-acts) in the 90s, the way those tracks made me feel was something unique. It was a sound I had never heard before, and granted it took me a while to get into. Back then I didn't really analyse how each individual sound sounded or how it was made, but was more mesmerized of the overall sound and it's uniqueness. Scales that I had rarely heard in music, and just an overall big burst of layers of sound that weren't that familiar to me coming from more pop music. Now when I listen to this and even the (albeit nostalgic) old Astral Projections tracks, my musical experience, taste and technical knowledge has developed to the stage that I no longer get "that feel". Similar to people first getting into black metal (that dark pull of the music), the feel slowly goes away once you get more familiar with the music.
