Enlusion - Timeless / Avalanche [Digital Emotions]

    Hi everyone!

Here's my latest release which is a 2-track EP of atmospheric progressive breaks with trancey touch, I'm interested to know your thoughts on it.

    Thanks.

Very Airwave-y. Sounds like you even might've used his sample pack (who wouldn't, it's great).

Great main melody in Timeless (and its sound), would shine in a good trance remix.

Avalanche has that Coldharbour 05 bassline and overall sound. As a whole it's much better. I love it! And that main melody!

Both main melodies just reminded me of old M.I.K.E., and that's something to be praised.

Yes I used his sample pack indeed, basically the best one for Breaks!

Both melodies are very classy and yeah there's alot of inspiration from M.I.K.E and Coldharbour of '05 era, I love that sound and miss it

Thanks alot mate for your feedback, unfortunately all DJs skipped this release, It's not radio friendly I guess, but I'll eventually produce more Breaks from time to time as It's a really rare music these days and I miss it.

I'm a big fan of breaks and would like to see more trance producers stray into the genre every once and a while.

    Both are great!

I love this double AA, I did think it has a slightly older sound to it. Would of loved a 4/4 remix!

This is more like it. Why can't we have more of this rather than that techprog stuff that has nothing to do with Trance and you want to kill yourself? Snare drum maybe a tad bit hard/loud but it's a good attempt.

Rather enjoyable these two. Powerful, deep basslines, good atmosphere. Drums are perhaps a tad too loud for my liking. Definitely would like to see more breaks around in the progressive scene though. Keep it up.

Hmmm not sure how I feel about these. Melodic wise it's good, especially Avalanche (also would like 4/4 remix of this as some mentioned above). For me the breakbeats are too loud and chaotic feeling. I have always struggled with this slamming style high-hat laden breakbeats which seem to take prominence over all the other musical elements. The details get lost in my opinion... it's just a taste thing I guess. I felt the same about some of Airwaves more recent breaks tracks... You Are My Salvation and Santika are other Trance breaks producers who sometimes go for this style too with mixed success in my eyes. All too noisey!

    Using Airwave as an example

Space Divas has this 'slamming' style like you have done above...but the other elements are just as prominent (if not more). Everything can breathe. Less/more closed off high-hats??? I'm not sure. Its just more pleasing on my ears.

L-Vee - In The Hands Of An Angel... breaks starts at about 2:00 minutes. This is less slamming than Space Divas but has tons of energy and movement. More likely to here delicate beats and subtle arrangement changes than hard hitting beats. Again...well balanced with the rest of the elements.

And then finally Sleep Alone is even more delicate with some of the beat work. Great track. Feels more progressive in its build than what you are doing here, yet don't think this track is labelled as such (Trance)

Just my opinion, could very well be a taste thing. I love breakbeat and I love trance so always wondered why I could never connect with this very specific style of it. You could call it a modern style I guess??

Thanks for your super detailed comment man!

The thing is that I created exactly the kind of music that I wanted, I love Airwave and You Are My Salvation's breaks productions and I'm not a fan of more easy-listening breaks, I would rather fill every inch in the panorama of the track, just a matter of taste, some producers prefer less elements and give their records a space to breathe, but I'm not one of those

@enlusion - fair play. I can still hear the genuine feel behind the music and as I said I really enjoy the melodic parts. Any other breaks in this slamming style you could recommend? I still take enjoyment from it. You Are My Salvation is probably my favourite artist for this style. I like his remix of JOOF - Healing, his remix of Carpathian Paths - Burkut and this one is amazing! @sleeping

My big favourite this one, a little bit more gentle breaks tune but still the same kind of "vibe"
