That track from your timestamp was UDM & Exouler - Intensity; out last week on Digital Society. On The Rocks starts @ 15:13.

    Download/Listen at Beatport (13th August 2018):

    Available on Other Stores: 27th August 2018 | VII031

A sublime Summer sizzler in a trademark John Askew style. On The Rocks fuses blissful soundscapes with razor sharp beats and a hypnotic groove. Could this be our fav John Askew release to date? Quite possibly. Delicious.

A while back while I was on tour in Argentina I played an amazing show in the coastal city Mar Del Plata at a club called Sethai - which is a glass fronted venue right on the waterfront. It was a brilliant gig - as they often are in Argentina - and at the end when we came outside the view across the sea was just incredible as the first glimpses of daylight started breaking on the flat sea. About fifteen of us walked out onto an outcrop of large stones that stretched out to sea. We sat on the end, drinking, talking about life, music, travel, adventure and everything in-between. When the sun broke the horizon and came up illuminating that epic view......well it was an awesome moment that I will remember for the rest of my days.

I said to the group "I will make a track and call it “On The Rocks” to remember this exact moment".

It took a while but that's exactly what I've now done.

This is a tribute to those incredible sunrises we’ve all shared with people we’ve met through clubbing and our mutual love of electronic music.

Here’s to many more like them!

    Cheers!

On The Rocks is out now: po.st/VII031

Reminds me a lot of older Askew productions. Melodic infused energetic summery trance

I actually like the ideas. I just damn hate the execution. It's too dry, too polished. I know the simplicity is Askew's style, but it's just too sterile for me to enjoy it.

After the break, those melodic elements make me feel like I am hearing water leaking from the ceiling and hitting the ground after it has rained outside. (drop..drop..drop drop drop...drop) Hahaha.

    I like it
