I pray this isnt full of collabs with a load of generic producers again, like his last album. Really hope he takes on the old skool sounds of 'Safe Haven' which was the standout of that album imo.

In an official statement, van Dyk said, “‘Music Rescues Me’ is an album deeply rooted in story-telling, mystery and adventure. It’s an exploration of trance, a journey through the breadth and depth of a genre that continues to enthrall me as an artist.”

Paul van Dyk feat. Johnny McDaid - All The Stars (PvD Club Mix)

This song was orginally supposed to be included on Evolution (the sixth studio album released in April 2012).

I hope the music isn't going to be as dire as the album cover.

The PVD Club Mix of All The Stars was premiered at Dreamstate SoCal last year. Curious to see if it makes the album cut, or at least as a standalone single. The song was made originally for Evolution, so I'm hoping he at least updated the original mix since. Track starts at 1:04:04

The cover art reminds me of Seven Ways to be honest.

I still stand by my reasoning that From Then On was partially comprised of non released material from the POD3 follow-up album Paul first talked about during ASOT700 Mexico. Maybe slightly updated work and also a few originals. Which means it was a lot of music that was initially cut from POD3.

Paul's statement seems to indicate a return to a solo album. Hopefully someone records his DS set to see if he's premiering any new material. We can only hope he goes down the route of Safe Haven, that was 90s PVD through and through.

Well,PvD has been in the wilderness since the early 2000's for me...his best work came in 1998/99 with 'Out There and Back' album and the 'Dyk Technik' mix album.....i just dont know why he didnt carry that quality on. His sound was years ahead of anyone..

I was listening to his Paul Plays Paul set from Casino in 2001 the other day, and he played some songs from the mid 90s. They fit perfectly with the OTAB material, it was incredible how forwards thinking he was back in the day.

I read that the album contains new collabs with Jordan Suckley, James Cottle, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Delta One, Saad Ayub and Steve Dekay.

The title track "Music Rescues Me" features Plumb.

What's interesting is the track referred to above by @S3baman "Paul van Dyk feat. Johnny McDaid - All The Stars (PvD Club Mix)" also contains the lyrics "Music Rescues Me" in the chorus.

Here is the press release (I think):

Paul van Dyk has announced his ninth artist album and second in consecutive years called “Music Rescues Me” (formerly announced with the album title “Symbols”). In production under-the-radar for nine months, Paul confirmes the album “in the final stages of recording”. Signalling a newly won creative flow the album will be released only one year after “From Then On”.

As one of electronic music’s seminal and pioneering figures Paul van Dyk continues to push his chosen genre of trance forward. The last two years have seen Paul invigorated with creativity, writing new music as well as launching a new live show. This has coincided with a resurgence in the popularity of trance around the world with Paul at the forefront. Both “Music Rescues Me” and “From Then On” see Paul exploring the sounds of trance with renewed purity and focus.

Paul van Dyk will celebrate “Music Rescues Me” with a performance at Printworks in London, one of the premier venues to emerge in the UK in recent years. Paul is the first trance artist to perform at the London venue, a demonstration to his continued dedication to pushing boundaries. The Printworks show will be the first opportunity for fans to experience van Dyk’s new album, which will be released shortly thereafter. Previously a newspaper printing factory, Printworks is an industrial juggernaut of a club and has quickly become one of the top nightclubs in all of Europe – a fitting venue for the first live performance of “Music Rescues Me”.

We can’t wait for this show and for more details about Paul’s new LP.

Paul van Dyk’s ninth artist album “Music Rescues Me” is out in October 2018!
A recent offering from Perrelli & Mankoff:

The updated PVD Club Mix features both Johnny and Plumb on the vocals. Paul must have asked Plumb to sing along as a way to freshen up the track since it's rather old.

Really keen to hear his collabs with Jordan and of course GO. Giuseppe did a visit to the VANDIT studio a couple of weeks back, most likely putting the finishing touches on the track.
