Well I did my best to try to like something from this album but the only good point from me is that he wants to help upcoming producers with promotion.

wot a tragic album. every single track sounds the same and they are all weak and extremely generic. -10

For me it's weaker than the previous album, unfortunately.

Wow an album full of collabs, yet somehow every track sounds the same. Are these big djs so busy that they start every project with the same pre-loaded sounds, instead of coming up with something new each time. Oh and is there a rule that every trance artist album needs to be full of collabs?
Edit: Granted "Out There And Back" tracks all shared a very similar sound to each other, but it helps when the sound is actually unique and interesting.

Well, lets think about this - why was the late 90's and early 2000's his peak? I mean which classic track has he made since then? Did he burn out so early? Listening to his early stuff,he was an exceptional Trance producer - so why all the need for the collabs with these generic young producers - which do result in generic track. Ive got to say though,i like 'Voyager'..its a nice melody.
Its clear he can go back to his sound - Safe Haven was an example - but i just dont understand his thoughts here as an artist.
Its like he wants to keep up with the current sound - so collab with the 'in' producers - but sod that...stick to your own style & sound. Everyone knew his sound.

Best track from "From then on" - Safe Heaven (no collab, PvD alone track)
Best track from "Music rescues me" - Time Traveler (no collab, PvD alone track)
I think this speaks a lot from how his albums are made. If he continues just to promote dj's from Vandit and not do a "solo" album, he will lose and people won't buy his albums. Ok, we get it that is better from a Label perspective to promote also other DJs, but we wait for a "PvD sounds"
On the other hand, we don't need to be stuck in a "old PvD sound" and expect for all his track to be the same as in 90s or 00s, all his albums to be copies of OTAB, he needs to be in the current environment, but still...
His medical condition is not the best, he can't be focus for a longer period of time, he still has leftovers from the injury and is was expected not to produce so quickly, but, imho, it would be better if he will keep time to produce "solo" albums instead of only promote Vandit producers.

I think it's the recent falls and he's probably tired of the industry and clearly was forced to make these watered down tracks. It's the same goes for most artists. They all have a gun next to their heads because their booking agent is telling them, oh you have this wonderful gig, then you get to the chosen event, the event manager, wants you to make or play the cheesy tracks because that's what gets the crowd rolling, otherwise you don't get paid.

Have you ever thought about why these artists put themselves through all this? Maybe it's because such a career allows them to provide for their families a very comfortable life for years to come, allows them to travel around the world and explore so many different cultures and people most of us won't ever have the opportunity to in our lives, and allows them to entertain hundred thousands of people worldwide?
Any career is going to have its upsides and downsides. You only talk about the ills that they face, completely disregarding the amazing things the career of a global, touring DJ brings. You talk about these people being sick, stressed-out, wasted etc. Yet you are always here talking about how shit the world and other successful people is. Do you see the irony at all?
Please don't project your own misery onto other peoples' lives.

Top 3 for sure!
I don't know, I bought it when it came out and one of the first things I noticed was how the tracks had a very similar sound to them. You have to remember that back then trance in general sounded a lot more diverse, there weren't vengeance libraries and plugin synths with presets, producers were all using different hardware, analogs, virtual analogs, digital synths, workstations, samplers in various price ranges. The fact that the tracks are mixed together probably also affects this feeling of cohesion. And I don't mean it in a bad way, every track has few distinct recognizable sounds and melodies, and the album really feels like one big composition and not just a compilation of individual tracks. Plus nobody else had that PvD sound, so it was never generic by any means. But apart from the few slower breaks tracks, a lot of the tracks share the same or very similar kick drum, bass, tr-909 percussion and the synth sounds share similar characteristics suggesting that the same synth(s) was used for all of them.
