I'll just post these two as the example of how you CAN make something Push-sounding these days, make it sound modern enough but still make it sound amazing. These were released this year. It's just the production (though I prefer these two melodically as well), and I refuse to believe Push himself doesn't know how to make something like that. He's a legend of this genre, after all, and has more experience than Slam Duck and S&T combined.

Hope he takes the advice from this thread and goes with it, because we all want to see him succeed. I still like the direction he's taking, it takes some balls - especially in the scene where most of the people in power point blank refuse to go or even look back. Music is a subjective thing, and in this man's subjective opinion, the album is really great in that regard, but for Push to evoke the same emotions as his works of the past did, I'd say it would be good if he took the feedback from this thread into account for his future works.

I'll leave you with these two beauties:

Gagi & MaickelJ - Prisoner Of Past [THREAD | BEATPORT]
Gagi & MaickelJ - Prisoner Of Past (Remixes) [THREAD | BEATPORT]

Gagi - Classic Tech Trance Mix [MIXCLOUD]
Gagi - Short House & Trance Mix [MIXCLOUD]

Yeah I remeber that Slam Duck remix...Its very good, but I dont think its better than the new Push tracks...I think its at the same level.
Airflow reminds me Oliver Lieb and Airwave in late 90s...the sound is not so close to MIKE tracks I think...but it has the oldschool vibes. Airlfow would fit the good old Bonzai records

I liked the album but I miss his dark trancy Push sounds. These are all happy Trance tunes, which there is nothing wrong with it but I would prefer a few tracks with dark and edgy sounds.

Halfway with listening.Amazing album and appreciate that again another producer (also Digital Blonde) has the guts to release good oldschool trance like this.
Respect for that. Not so fond of the vocal tracks but that's me. For all the critics, maybe better stay in your trance 2.0 playlist.
Refreshing oldschool sound imo, even if a lot of peeps in the ' trancescene' calls this outdated production and not trendy.

This album has been on repeat for the whole weekend. Best album this year, for me. He really managed to come close and perhaps even capture that old vibe in tracks like Illusion Nights and Trance-Porter . Class of 1999 has to be my favorite. Escape from Heaven is becoming a guilty pleasure aswell.

I hope he will continue on this path

Conclusion amazing album it is. My favorite tracks:

    Class of 1999 and Trance-Porter.

Funny thing is, he mentioned yesterday in asot studio he creates this album with only hardware synths. Only vst he used for mixing/mastering process.

Also magical and included on cd release:

There are also times where vocalists do not want to be credited. I know this happened with Suncatcher & Exolight's Water Colour Memories, maybe the same case here?
    Exciting Releases:
    Karanda - Supreme
Rodrigo Deem - Divo / Totem
    Codeko - Crusader
    Las Salinas - Winston
Solis & Sean Truby - Armadillo
    Slim Colt - Livi
    Signal Space - Sharik

I want to hear tracks like these where the transition between the buildup, breakdown and climax and the drop are so smooth that there are no boring bits at all and it sounds so clean and smooth and rhythmic despite being on Youtube. There is also a central focus more on the whole track as well which makes the track so trippy as hell.

AND It sounds AMAZING at home!

Yeah, these new tracks are still too articulated and loud and still suffer from this focus on tension-release from the curse of bigroom/dubstep/asot styled track from the last years. Too agressive and the transistions are not smooth and feels forced.

What happened with trance that just flows so well?
