Started off incredibly , but the last few episodes were a big let down, and the final episode was just plain bad. Loving the work Mike Flanagan is showing us, and this definitely had potential , but such a shame the writing was off at the end. Damn, those first few episodes were scary , haunting and properly done.

It is definitely better. It looks a bit like S1 (which will never be bettered) in some ways. I like how the story has been unfolding so far.

Yeah, he's quite good, and his partner Roland is also quite good. I like their chemistry.

The only real problem I have with it is how that strangeness and creepiness that was present in S1 is now lacking. It left you very disturbed, which is very rare, while also being very addictive and just generally amazing. S1 was also philosophically very rich, which is something I like as well. This one isn't. Centering the whole plot around child murder and racism seemed a bit predictable and too convenient. It's a delicate theme, everybody loves children, and it provides some disturbance without much effort. Racism is pretty actual as well. On itself, just those two facts make it seem like it was made because of statistics and the appeal, rather than out of artistic vision.

That said, it's good for what it is, and I've enjoyed every second of it (that was also the case with S2). It's very mysterious and I always find myself anxiously waiting for the next episode. I really hope this gets them the funding and the proof that people want more True Detective, and that it results in a few more seasons.

Hmm any thoughts on the last GoT episode? @Katadunkass @Gagi

Thought it was messy, and hard to stay focused. The ending was terrible as well. Fun to watch, but seen better episodes.

I haven't yet watched GoT. The hype really makes me not want to. I might start later this year, when all of the episodes are out and the dust is settled.

    SPOILERS FOR GOT S8E3
I don't know man, the only thing I really had a bad feeling about was how they killed off The Night King. Sure, that's a pretty big thing in the overall universe of GoT, but I really don't get much of the complain about the messiness, structure and so on.
The messiness made it more realistic imo., as a battle of pure horror and survival with no obvious focus or overview because our "heroes" never gets a chance to get the upper hand and breathe. It had some pretty damn awesome moments imo. (How the Dothraki died was awesome, how the massive force of death just ran through absolutely everything and especially the dragon scenes were fantastic).
That surely doesn't mean it's perfect. I honestly wanted more a-list people to die in this episode - I really thought Brienne, Gendry and perhaps even one of the Stark sisters would get killed this episode. How awesome wouldn't it have been if The Night King just f*cking slaughtered Arya at the end!?

Did you have a problem with the brightness of the episode btw.? I see a lot of people had troubles watching anything because it was to dark, but I didn't have a problem at all.

Could be my pirated copy of course lol, still heard many complaints indeed. That said, the action and CGI were pretty OK. Still the writing was not so great in my opinion. Curious how the next episodes will be.
