Paul van Dyk hopes his horrific fall serves as a cautionary tale for the industry

Up to this point, none of these guys involved picked up the phone to call me and ask me how I am. Look, legal stuff is one thing, but there is a moral thing to this as well,” he said. “If you come to my house and slip and break an arm, I will call you and see how you are doing. But with these guys, no way, it goes to tell you about the characters of the people involved.”

yes paul, don't dance like a bellend on a surface not meant for standing to shit music.

if he was playing a classic, this would never have happened

no but pretty shitty no-one asked how he was, but they were probably more scared of bringing it up at all in case of legal ramifications. they must have thought it better to pretend it never happened i guess.

Paul is physically fine but mentally scared. I know the feeling but really, there are a bunch of toxic people in the Trance scene that have polluted this beautiful music of ours. I tell you, these people are ill and there is a sickness in the air.

Although I'm not fond of his recent productions, I think it's bold to bash PvD in a thread about his fall.
PvD is only 46. Get this man in a gym, give him a tough exercise regime, and he'll be back to being healthy in no time.

J Paul van Dyk was awarded over $12 million from concert organizers over a 2016 near-death stage fall that left him with long-lasting brain injuries.During a 2016 set in the Netherlands, Dyk performed at the “A State of Trance” festival where he horribly fell through the stage. He suffered substantial injuries, including a brain injury and damage to his spine.

Also further to the quote above, it needs to be further fixed.

    https://edm.com/news/paul-van-dyk-blast-alda-not-asot-ade-interview

In the article about the interview during the Amsterdam Dance Event about my accident at A State of Trance 750 in Utrecht, reference is made to my “disappointment in A State of Trance’s reaction to the accident”.

While the quote about “these guys” is correct, it must be clarified that what I said was not about A State of Trance - which is a festival and event brand - but about the producers of the event - ALDA.

These are two different entities and it is important to be clear that I have no problem with A State of Trance (or Armin [van Buuren]) because they did not do anything wrong and were not responsible for what happened. I also did not make any statement about cutting ties with ASOT.

I still remember this as the day of yesterday!
As I was in the Mainstage dancing to PvD.... I was looking at the stage when he fell through that hole.
The moment after I saw people running around the DJ booth and I knew there was trouble.

So immediately I checked a website where you can check the emergancy calls.
And I saw that the air ambulance was called to the Jaarbeurs I felt the worst.
I was so happy when I heard that Paul would be able to return to what he loves most: Making trance and touring (although not as much as before the accident)

When I saw the interview that nobody contacted him to ask how his condition is I felt anger.
How on earth could they do this?

So I am happy that they now solved the issue
