John 00 Fleming - Looking Back. To Look Forward. (incl. Morttagua, Ziger Remixes) [JOOF Recordings]

    BP & iTunes: 03.12.2018 | Everywhere: 17.12.2018 | JOOF295
DL/Listen: Beatport, Spotify, Deezer, Juno, iTunes, Apple Music

Label Boss John 00 Fleming has been on fire lately, He's been a leader and innovator in the scene for over 30 years, and Looking Back. To Look Forward. conceptualises his wisdom and his experience. A ground-stomping groove, a riveting eastern-melody, and haunting vocals are delicately woven into this track with the sole purposes of making the dance floor stomp their feet, this is monitor-shaking, edge-of-your seat music.

Here’s a snippet of my new single thats released next week…. let me tell you a little story about this.
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In life its important to keep looking back, to enable you to to look forward, the well know phrase ‘history repeats itself’ certainly falls true when it comes to music. There’s many parts of the Trance world that I dearly miss, especially within the underground spectrum as this is where my roots firmly lay.

In the early days of my career I was signed to React records that ran parallel with the worlds of Platipus, HOOK, Bell boy, Whoop! records etc. This was my world of dark, Progressive, driving, melodic intelligent forward thinking Trance music, and there’s currently a big void missing today.
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I looked back at those wonderful days and got inspiration to write this track hence the name. Its not a hands in the air big room festival banger, nor a Beatport chart topping anthem, its simply heads down driving tool aimed for those dark underground clubs and festivals to create a magical hypnotic moment. A dance floor friendly track.

The tracks are extremely loud and too harsh and abrasive. Breakdown is about the only good thing.

    I agree

Joof recordings has always been an impressive label.

By the way Mr Enlusions, your remix of Narel - Circle Sky, absolutely BLEW me away!

If you guys have not heard this track yet.. your missing out!

Would be great to see some more collaborations with Slam Duck, Narel & a collaboration with Gordey Tsukanov would be amazing!

wow that remix of Circle Sky was made almost one year ago, Nick asked me to choose the track from him album and Circle Sky was my fav, he's a good lad, really like his musical touch, go check out his remix of Alfonso Muchacho - Darkosaur, It's absolutely wicked.

As for the collabs Slam Duck is quite busy at the moment, we're planning to make a progressive breaks track together with Narel.
As for my good friend Gordey, maybe this year we will make a dark progressive trance tune together, his music inspires me alot, just like Cosmithex for example.

    Thanks for the nice words!

You chose a great track to remix there, Circle Sky is a fantastic track by Narel.. I was listening to the Slam Duck remix, which is also fantastic and so damn deep, but your remix is without a doubt the best.

I do enjoy your breaks projects, and some of the dark prog stuff... However would be awesome to see more Melodic trance tracks from you guys!

As for Gordey? Faaark! His recent release, Last Step Before Heaven & The Fidget..

    Pure trance in my opinion!

Looking forward to some more great Collabs from you guys!

Glad you mentioned Alfonso Muchacho.. Another great producer.

I would recommend you listen to his remake of Sasha - Arkham Asylum, Also Time Flies!

Really liking this. Listening through my badass headphones and I personally don't find it abrasive or harsh. Breakdown is nice and beat is really getting me moving. Maybe a little noisy with all the different elements he has tried to introduce, but overall I think this is job well done from the legend!

This is still the wrong direction to steer Trance music. This is not what it's about but I'll let the individual make their mind. What do I know right?

    This is Trance

This podcast will really show the breed of music that's out there but these artists are too shallow to even give these beautiful work a chance because it doesn't get the crowd going.

JOOF is like good wine, or betting on gold at the stock market. You always win! If only he had it a few BPMs higher, I think it could serve as a peak dancefloor killer. Even so, we need more of this type of progressive

I was specifically talking about the deeper side of Trance he is so hyping about. I would like that kamil polner type of Trance but that won't come just yet. It will take a while for that type of trance to come back.

There are no wrong directions. JOOF style of Trance can live alongside Allende or Thrillseekers Trance, it's not a difficult concept to grasp. Just because a specific style of 90's Trance doesn't get produced anymore doesn't mean we should throw all other sub-genres under the bus.

Once again Contact you have your own isolated vision of what Trance should be and everything else should be scrutinised or dismissed. So tiresome.
