MIKE doesn't have that many memorable tracks. Yes, Strange World is one of the best trance tracks ever, but the rest of his discography isn't as memorable. The Legacy was tarnished with all the copied pluck melodies that came after it, and overall he was less consistent than Armin past 2004.
Armin did so much more memorable work up until Mirage (2010), and even Intense (2013) had the occasional decent track. Plus, Armin has In and Out of Love going for him, which shows the breadth of his skill when it comes to producing different genres.

He's also a law school graduate!

But MIKE is a far better musician though, his works are much more 'serious' in my opinion. Armin has mastered mainstream, sing-along music and his tracks are some of the most memorable, but memorability is not all there is to music. After 2004 (and especially 2006), MIKE unfortunately had a decline that he has not yet recovered from.

MIKE's best productions are probably better than Armin's best productions, but Armin has more productions by sheer volume, and pretty much everything up to and including Mirage was very high quality. As you pointed out, MIKE's post-2006 career is lackluster, whereas Armin kept going strong during and beyond that.
It is true that MIKE's productions are more serious and mature-sounding than Armin's, and that memorability is not all there is to music. It is true that Armin did very well with mainstream sing-along music. I still think Armin is a better musician.

Think whatever you'd like to think. Strange World is within my top 10 trance tracks of all time, but The Legacy and Universal Nation never did it for me. OTOH, Totally Fascinated and Massive Motion are complete bangers that didn't receive enough attention as they should have.

A thing I also noticed while listening to Club Embrace is, I would get shivers just on a simple riff or a hook or a sound from Armin's old tracks. I remember even that!

Armin has more trance classics on his name. Its easier of course if you can rely on huge support by the most influential trance dj. As he that is Armin himself obviously.

As for Mike Push, a nice one in his favor is Solar Factor - Urban Shakedown.

Yeah, that's a good one from MIKE as well.

Another Push classic. He has more than you might think. But I do think Armin simply has a few more.

Lol, before this thread evolves into a bunch of posts about good MIKE tracks:

On a second listen I'd say Universal Nation is pretty good.

Are you new with Universal Nation?

For me it was really a track I loved after hearing it live. Its such a banger. Very powerful track.

I had the same with Tiesto’s Traffic. Seemed just OK, but live its so energetic!

Somewhat. When I would hear it I happened to like other styles of trance.
